After 90 minutes in the decanter some mentholated cherry grudgingly steps forward on the nose, along with a background note of tree bark. Palate is simple and earthy at this point, but with good intensity, significant tannin, and lots of acidity. Finish is a little clipped, due to tannin, I think. Seems like a decent bet for midterm aging.
