  Splash decanted for two hours, then back into bottle. Sour cherries, tar, hint of licorice, hint of leather. Tannins are fairly fine and well integrated - but still some assertiveness. Some bricking. Good acidity. Masks the alcohol well. Rustic, rather than refined. Relatively good for the vintage. Good QPR. I would drink these over the next 4-5 yrs. I don’t view these as drinking all that well beyond 2028 or so, at least judging from this bottle (but CT window says otherwise).

  Wonderful! After being opened almost two hours this wine really began to sing. Fragrant and expansive on the nose, on the palate it was both rich cherry fruit and bitter orange, rounding (still some rough edges) tannins, earth, spice and a iron backbone of acids. The finish was long and balanced. So nice.

  Tar, licorice, orange peel, cherries, rose petal. Fine but assertive tannins. Good acidity. Good typicity. Improved with 90 mins of air. Good QPR.

  This has improved over the past 18 months. Drinking in a nice window. Consistent with previous notes, only more pronounced fruit, bitters, and tar flavors. Drink 2021-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.
