Tuesday, June 14, 2016 - from 750. PNP. cork crumbly but wet only 1/4th way up. color cola. nose has rhubarb cola and 5 spice and hints of cherry. swishing shows mostly acid structure remaining, but there are some tannins that bring up the rear and make this terse on the stemmy finish. swishing gives slippery tea and tannin and totally obscures the acid. this is totally secondary, and more advanced (as expected) than the magnum we tried a year ago. if you have this I would find a fresh steelhead filet and some mushrooms (like we did tonight) and drink up. flirting with deterioration and it is not going to improve. I just found this bottle in the market, and if you are so lucky take it home and drink near term.
