Nice balance, good mature fruit, zesty acidity, and fine tannins make this a pleasure to drink. I got dried fruit leather, stewed cherry, and cigar wrapper all integrated into a dellicious juice. Deeper ruby color than typical Oregon pinot of this age.
Drank reasonably well out of the bottle, but improved connsderably over three hours. This wine is aging gracefully and should be going strong for at least the next 3-4 years.

from 750. PNP. cork crumbly but wet only 1/4th way up. color cola. nose has rhubarb cola and 5 spice and hints of cherry. swishing shows mostly acid structure remaining, but there are some tannins that bring up the rear and make this terse on the stemmy finish. swishing gives slippery tea and tannin and totally obscures the acid. this is totally secondary, and more advanced (as expected) than the magnum we tried a year ago. if you have this I would find a fresh steelhead filet and some mushrooms (like we did tonight) and drink up. flirting with deterioration and it is not going to improve. I just found this bottle in the market, and if you are so lucky take it home and drink near term.

Willamette Immersion Seminar - Nicely aged wines - short notes (Allison Inn, Newberg Oregon): Medium ruby color. Dark berries, baking spice on the nose. Palate was earth, dark berries, herbs, light licorice through the mid plate. Plush fruit, nicely aged and structured. Well stored bottles still have time. One of the stars of the tasting...
