Saturday, October 13, 2018 - 99/100 points, this is a Wow wine! The only reason it’s not 100 points in my view is simply, bottle time. Previous notes apply. Fabulous dark, ripe fruit purity and extraction, great nose of fragrant purple violet flowers and on the palate, cream de Cassis, intense dark berry fruit that shows impeccable ripeness, hints of oak, and subtle powdered coco essence. If you maxed out on your order of this wine, you will be a happy camper.

10/14/2018 6:23:00 AM - Yack Man, nice note as usual. How long would you be inclined to lay down this vintage? I had another bottle of the 2016 Becklyn last night and it's drinking quite well - very expressive/flavorful as I prefer. However, I'm thinking with another 6 months it should hopefully add some weight. Although it's going to be hard to keep my hands off the bottles that long because I don't believe there are better wines for the price point even at this youthful stage in my opinion. Thanks.

10/14/2018 7:12:00 AM - That's hard to say, but I would not hesitate to pop a bottle tomorrow if the occasion called for it. I believe 6 months or more will benefit this wine in my opinion. This wine quite impressive, it's really good. I can't wait to give the 2016 Becklyn a shot, I suppose they should start shipping those wines soon. Did you order the 2016 Moulds Cab? I did not.

10/14/2018 7:26:00 AM - I didn't buy the 2016 Moulds. I thought previous vintages were pretty good but not great for the money. I also didn't buy the 2016 Becklyn Missouri Hopper but I might pick-up a bottle through ACME. I'm still sitting on a bottle of the 2015 Becklyn Missouri Hopper that I'll probably pop over the next couple weeks to see if I should buy a couple of the 2016 vintage.
