Thursday, May 1, 2014 - Fabulously complex nose of truffles, pepper, violets, animal fur and a certain feral quality. On the palate, this is just wild with incredible flavors of baconfat, menthol, roasted meats, minerals and floral note perhaps from the Viognier. Full, rich, exotic and deeply concentrated, this is the wild side of La Mouline and it is fantastic. The finish is extraordinarily complex and there is a deep core of pure fruit suggesting that this wine still has a long way to go. Fabulous!
