Saturday, April 22, 2023 - Amazing the difference in the two bottles of this. Popped the cork and left it out for a couple of hours before going to HMC's for dinner. Classic barnyard funk on the nose, it smooths out over 2-3 hours. Full bodied but lighter red garnet in the glass. While not my style as it comes across as way too savory, I can appreciate the pure Wash St. fruit for what it is. A pretty nice wine 3-4 hours of air, in......glad I got to try one more as the donkey's ass in the last one, was a real struggle....lol. Looking back, I can def say it was tremendously 'flawed'.

4/23/2023 4:18:00 AM - Thanks.....just wanted to confirm the 'goodness' that you and Paul reported in your bottle the other night. As flawed as my first bottle was, it still came around a good bit the 2nd night to make it to an 88 for me. This bottle was an effortless 90 pts 4 hours in when it really settled down. Still, this particular bottling of Reynvaan has a style that's too over the top for even 'more Markie'. Too much black olive, too much salinity, etc. I get the feeling if it were half of what it is, I'd really love it. The Contender, that Jaime gave me previously, I really enjoyed, style-wise. I have one bottle of 'In The Hills' to try. I've not had that bottling before.

Tempted to bring a Horsepower to DV but I know you won’t forgive me for liquid bacon 😂
