Wednesday, September 9, 2020 - Last tasted approximately one year ago, Turley's 2017 Juvenile Zinfandel continues to offer an aromatic profile of red bramble fruits, licorice, rosemary, black pepper and baking spices. Deep ruby, full-bodied and freshly acidic, it delivers flavors in line with the nose, wrapping them with supple tannins and well-woven oak. As is frequently the case with Turley's wines, the alcohol "sticker" (15.5%) causes unnecessary trepidation; this throws no alcoholic heat when served at the appropriate temperature of 60-65°F. Solid on the middle palate and medium-to-long on the back end, this is a well-balanced Zinfandel that should be at its best over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2023.
