Saturday, July 22, 2023 - Uber dark maroon right to the rim and impenetrable at the heart. Quite deep and rich on the nose. Layers of sweet oak, caramel, vanilla and chocolate, black raspberry, plum and blackberry, with a final bit of ink and charcoal on the nose. Velvety smooth, full bodied, tart acidity, crunchy dark berry fruit and a moderately long finish. Palate follows the nose pretty closely. The acidity keeps the perfectly ripe fruit in check and prevents it from becoming jammy. Of anything, it is just a bit short on the fruit body, but otherwise pretty high QPR on this. Very good and reasonably priced!
