Monday, August 23, 2021 - Starts off with an exuberant bouquet of yellow flowers: freesia, ylang ylang and sweet alyssum followed by concentrated apricots and tangerine oil alongside a hint of smoked hay and pea shoots. An initial creaminess is followed by pear compote, sweet spices and coarse quartz, that's then washed away by a crystalline and linear acidity that cuts through everything.

To me, Terra Montosa is always the reference wine of Breur's vintages. Theresa always seems to do an excellent job a blending declassified grand cru fruit to represent the vintage's characteristics. This is big and powerful, filled with concentrated extract, but interwoven with fine grained details; reminiscent of Stravinsky's danse des adolescentes; loud and jagged at times, but filled with nuance between the booming notes and charming in its own way.
