Third bottle from a half case purchased from a reputable German merchant in 2021. At a lovely stage right now, balances freshness and energy with some waxy bottle-age; aromas of flowers and citrus; lovely grapefruit bitters and a salty finish. Drink now - 2029.

Second bottle from a half case purchased from a reputable German merchant in 2021. Tasted two times before, in 2021 and 2022, and in both instances it came across as relatively closed and a bit hard, seeming to need at least 3-4 years to open up and settle down. Judging from this bottle, the development went faster than anticipated, and it is really showing very nicely right now, with a lovely balance between the cool and spicy minerality of the terroir and the ripe citrus fruit (lemon and grapefruit) of the warm vintage. On the first day the angular style of the Weingut is clearly noticeable, but on the second day it starts to develop waxy and honeyed notes, whilst retaining the freshness of its acidity. Good persistence. Drink now and over the next 3-5 years.

Diam 10, 12% ABV. Quite closed at present, but the palpable minerality and terroir expression are convincing, and the producer profile is unmistakable. Needs time. Revisit 2025. Score based on potential.

A private lunch (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): A small glass to tie us over while we were selecting the reds. Absolutely true to type, firm and spicy minerality, fresh and elegant, needs a few years to unfold. I will keep my own bottles until 2025 at least.

Very stylish and appealing on the nose with delicious peach note, apple, white pepper and crushed rock. Sort of restrained yet detailed too. On the palate rather broad and powerful with the sort of acidity that rolls out as a wave instead of a laser-like spine. Generously fruity yet quite dry, not overtly ripe and definitely without any hints of botrytis. Has volume and some viscosity too, definitely no featherweight despite low 12% ABV. A serious wine but not too serious, I’m finding plenty of enjoyment here. Very firmly textured with a persistent, balanced finish.

Medium depth gold, nose of quince, apricot and chalk. Has puppy fat still, but a deep mineral core. Lots of extract, salty and dense. Lots of potential and fun now.

Starts off with an exuberant bouquet of yellow flowers: freesia, ylang ylang and sweet alyssum followed by concentrated apricots and tangerine oil alongside a hint of smoked hay and pea shoots. An initial creaminess is followed by pear compote, sweet spices and coarse quartz, that's then washed away by a crystalline and linear acidity that cuts through everything.
To me, Terra Montosa is always the reference wine of Breur's vintages. Theresa always seems to do an excellent job a blending declassified grand cru fruit to represent the vintage's characteristics. This is big and powerful, filled with concentrated extract, but interwoven with fine grained details; reminiscent of Stravinsky's danse des adolescentes; loud and jagged at times, but filled with nuance between the booming notes and charming in its own way. AP 02 20
ABV: 12.0% Closure: natural cork Decant: 2h Stem: Grassl Liberte Assemblage: A blend of declassified casks from Theresa's Grand Cru single vineyards. RS 6.4g/L; TA 7.6g/L

Highly extracted dry Riesling with a touch of residual sugar. Flowers greet you on the nose. Great fruit and bracing acidity on the palate. Long pleasant finish. A little pricey.

Fantastisk som vanligt. Denna flaska var mer gyllene i färgen än jag tidigare upplevt för denna årgång. Aningen mer utvecklad i smaken.
Fortfarande grym, men annorlunda.

Light golden yellow. Nose shows yellow fruit, minerals ans sulfur. Pineapple, grilled lemon, mineral and a high acidity on the palette. Quite nice!

Tropical notes with golden hints, this is good shit!
Yellow apples coated with lemon juice, white flowers and a hint of oak.
Really good acidity, not pointy at all.
Drink now or within ten years

Great balance between high acidity and slight sweetness. Brighter acidity than 2018. Bought at Georg Breuer’s after tasting several.
