Wednesday, September 13, 2023 - Three hour decant. Very very deep dark magenta color. Blackberry, blueberry, dark German chocolate cake, fennel, thyme, and pumpernickel. Very tongue drying palate, with sandy acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish.
This has shut down a bit since my last bottle (a year ago). It would be great with steak, but it’s not great on its own. It’s austere and Bordeaux-esque at the moment. I expect major improvement a year from now.

9/16/2023 7:30:00 AM - I haven't tried one of mine yet, but normally would prefer these to have 8-10 years on them. They don't seem to fill out fully, until that time for my palate.

9/16/2023 10:07:00 AM - Yeah, sdr.....the only time I open them early on is if I'm just craving to see what they're like but I know Ag very well and he's more on the younger side with his Cali cabs. Btw, I just had an '09 that was drinking beautifully at 14 yo!
