Friday, March 29, 2024 - Frey's Cat Ranch (Somewhere in the Northern Burbs, MN): Very dark red/purple color. Decanted for 20 minutes. Drank a glass over an hour. Fantastic nose with savauge, bacon fat, cured meat, aromatic, floral, black raspberry, black berry, black pepper, and licorice. I really love the nose, but the palate is nice too, a bit sharp on the back end, but impressive nonetheless: Big, ripe, palate staining purple fruits, plum, blackberry liqueur, Tart cherry skin, gravelly minerality, so savory, lacquer, long but a touch edgy on the finish. Outstanding.
