Saturday, October 21, 2023 - 40th anniversary tasting (L'Esprit du Vin - Axelborg): My notes from this fantastic gigantic tasting are in general extremely short (because of the many wines) but with ratings. We spent a whole day tasting and tasting quality wines.
This wine: All Marguet's 6 tasted cuvees were pretty developed. The finish was not that long. I was a little disappointed. Nutty.

2/4/2024 4:12:00 AM - There seem to be very mixed views on these Shaman (both 18 and 19). I wonder if it is bottle variation or the style is polarizing? I haven’t tried mine yet.

2/16/2024 7:58:00 AM - I agree with you. It is to a certain level a question of taste. In general I actually like Marguet's oxidative style (like selosse). However, Shaman every time I have tasted it has not been that interesting. Another funny story: I arranged a half blind 2008 vintage champagne tasting some months ago. Marguet's cuvee Sapience was one of the bottles. Half of the group (9 people in total) rated Sapience as their favorite of the evening. The other half rated it significantly lower. A matter of taste...
