Saturday, April 13, 2024 - Medium-deep reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & raspberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs, spices, anise, camphor, leather, tobacco, coffee, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & plums with spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish with firm gripping tannins. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging at which time it may merit an even higher score (97+). An outstanding Brunello which needs & will benefit from additional aging. One of the best 2019 Brunellos I have tasted to date & a "must buy" for any serious Brunello fan.
