Saturday, October 26, 2019 - Sadly this was corked. I say sadly because the tannins had completely mellowed but there was a perfect acidity and some nice sweet fruit poking through. I smelled the TCA right away but there was so much fruit I thought maybe it wasn’t actually corked and would blow off so I drank a bit. It really was so good under that nasty mildew note but I couldn’t get past it.

We all recognized it was corked but the fruit and tannins were just so good I ended up drinking half of the bottle with dinner, mostly because the TCA was negligible. It wasn't your typical wet dog/musty smell. But it was corked. I felt bad that I brought it and had it decanted at the table for JN.....he was most gracious and even drank a bit of it too.
