90 Points

Wednesday, April 30, 2014 - A lovely and certainly nice effort from Penley Estate, the 2007 Phoenix delivers an abundance of red mature fruits, gentle wood and secondary tones of subtle led pencil and spiciness. The palate is nicely integrated and adds to the overall experience in a very positive way. It is integrated but shows enough structure to deliver a true experience. With a vivid acidity and soft elegant tannins, this wine certainly delivers at its best tonight. A very nice effort!
