Friday, December 2, 2022 - Wine evening (Restaurant Krietsch, Schwäbisch Gmünd): From a perfect bottle. Popped and poured. Clear, glowing deep garnet-tawny color. Fully developed nose, herbaceous, fine red fruit, no significant sign of oxidation at all. Gets even more complex with air.
On the palate also very surprising! Acidity is still wonderfully integrated. Not much sign of oxidation or lovage. Sure, it is a bit thin/unbalanced at the mid-palate, but other than that it is fresh, elegant and lively! Juicy, some tobacco and leather, fine sweetness, present tannin. Fine and elegant finish. Wonderful experience! 92-93
