1990 Château L'Evangile

Community Tasting Note

90 Points

Thursday, March 22, 2018 - Well-aged with good flavors of smoky black fruits and truffles but a bit lean for what I’m looking for in aged Pomerol. Don’t get me wrong, this is elegant and well-made but lacks the expansive texture and excitment of the best wines from this commune, at least in this vintage.

3/24/2018 2:36:00 PM - It’s possible but this is the second time I’ve tried the wine and I’m underwhelmed by it but only in comparison to the top Pomerols of the vintage. It’s an otherwise very fine bottle of wine and I’m being picky.
