Friday, January 20, 2012 - Union des Grands Grus 2009 Bordeaux Tasting (Petersen Automotive Museum, Los Angeles): Beautiful, rich nose, showing cassis, lead pencil shavings, tar, black cherry, black plum, and toasted oak. More lead pencil on the velvety palate, along with cedar, asphalt, black currant, earth, and lots of black cherry and black plum. A ton of gripping tannins, with a long finish ending with notes of black cherry and lead pencil. Another great Barton. Fantastic.
