Sunday, July 8, 2018 - A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah and Malbec, I found the wine from this magnum dense and full bodied, indeed, but with an earthiness and structure that overshadowed the fruit. The decanter couldn't shake all of the fruit loose, even after 4 hours. The somewhat reticent fruit revealed nicely complex dark berry and spicy layers from the nose right on through the lengthy finish, and while the decade-old tannins have softened, possibly so has the fruit. It's a well-made wine that I enjoyed drinking... and with a few more in the cellar, maybe it's time to drink up.
