1975 only: Opening without a puff, straight cork, no bubbles left. Clean full yellow colour. Oxidative, metallic nose with a touch of cumin and tart apples. Good with food, but overall a let-down.

Lumber in the Mountains Update - Days 1 and 2. (Day 3 in progress).; 10/7/2010-10/8/2010 (Beaver Creek): The kick-off wine for a great weekend in the mountains. The theme for Friday and Saturday's dinners is Four M's - Musigny, Mouline, Montrachet, and clos du Mesnil. Lunch and afternoon wines are potluck. The 75 Castellane was gorgeous, aged, lush, vibrant, heck this had it all. Based on this bottle, I'd love to try other vintages. ...I got a feelin'...its going to be a good night(s)...
