Surprisingly light color. Has gained in weight, shows lemon curd, apples, hay and stones. Very distinct, great structure. A food wine, fish or white meats.

Popped and poured. Just a beautiful pure expression of Sancerre. Rocky minerals, fine chalk, citrus, sour grass. Integrated, seamless, lengthy mouthwatering finish. Delicious!

Grassy with classic Sancerre terrior notes; full bodied and nicely structured with a large acidic element and rather tart until it opened after 45 mins or so; nice lemon and earth with good length.

Light yellow. A bit floral and a lot citric on the nose. Light bodied but powerful underripe lemon and grapefruit. Full of acidity and soil. Continues to be excellent and completely consistent from one bottle to the next.

This continues to delight with an even more pungent, musky expression of Sauvignon fruit than before. It cuts a lemony, mineral swath across the palate and still seems to be on an upward swing.

A big Sancerre, with the weight that belies the 13% alc, but never tastes like it. wonderful minerals coat the full body, and refreshing lime provides that citrus drive to balance it all. solid, complete, yummy, bigger sancerre.

This is a great bottle of wine. Bone dry and very tight, but there is still plenty going on in the glass. There are none of the exotic fruit flavors one finds in Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Here is green fruit, citrus, grass and stones in a very compact, expressive package. Goes well as an aperitif but would be great with fish and cheeses as well.

Popped and poured. Light, clear straw hue, hint of yellow. Expressive and forward aromas of grapefruit, gooseberries, apple, lemongrass, freshly cut grass, and hints of white flowers (lilly's?) and minerals. Medium-light to light body. On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc shows impressive fruit while still showing terrior of the Loire, with flavors of lime, green apple, apple skin, lemongrass, thai basil, and crushed stones. Plus acidity keeps everything sharp and focused and the flavors linger through on the lengthy finish. Far from typical Sancerre, this is drinking beautifully right now. Will certainly hold for a few years but seems like it would best to enjoy right now and through the summer of 2011. Impressive juice!
Quick comment: This is truly the best of New Zealand combined with the best of Sancerre...while it lacks the serious structure and aging potential of a top Sancerre, it still possesses admirable mineral notes and bracing acidity. And while it doesn't quite have the intensity of fruit typical of New Zealand, the fruit is nonetheless showy and upfront. Perhaps the best trait are the herbaceous notes...never too green, they add just the right amount of complexity to keep this wine interesting from first to last sip.

Texbook Sancerre if such a thing exists. Pale yellow. Scents of grass, flowers, citrus and green fruit. Focused and precise on the palate, cleansing. So fresh, with nice acidity and wonderful stony minerality. Memorial Day at the beach in Westport with the Danish gang.

Agree with Dr W. Impressive counterplay between supple fruit and stony zest. Fruit leans towards citrus, but some white fruit and flowers as well. Really lovely.

Half bottle. Pale. Mouthwatering grapefruit and lemon scents. Lean, dry, and taut in the mouth with just an extra bit of flesh to keep it balanced. Terrific acidity and stoniness give it a powerful palate presence for its weight. Pretty much the mind's eye Sancerre.

Aromas of peach, grapefruit, stoney minerality, and a little green vegetable and grassiness. Tropical fruit flavors of tangerine, orange peel, sweet pear, and white melon. Great balance of minerality and acidity. Rich flavor profile, while staying medium body in viscosity. Finish is so juicy, you just want to drink more. By the the best Sauvignon Blanc I have ever had to date. If you can find this, buy without hesitation. ($23)

Very aromatic. Obvious citrus but scents of minerals and sea water add nice complexity. Great mouthfeel, medium-full bodied. Flavors of lemon zest, stones, and minerals. Mouth-watering acid that leads into a lengthy, minerallly finish. My first Sancerre and I will be back for more. Nice change of pace from NZ or Cali.

Medium golden yellow. Lightly chilled (56-60 F?). Very interesting bouquet; an unexpected foreground aroma of funky olive and truffle in addition to more typical chalk, citrus, lemongrass, and sea spray. Pure and focused flavors of tart lemon, granny smith apple, saline, herbs, and bright minerals. High acid par typical, lengthy 20-30s finish of lemon and starfruit. Served with seafood risotto featuring S/P-grilled shrimp drizzled with nicoise olive vinaigrette. However, despite the bouquet of the wine, the pairing was just very good - not outstanding as I had hoped because the flavors are so lean and focused with citrus. This could use 1-2 years to settle down and reveal more of the elements DS refers to in his glowing 92 score. Well made and worth the relatively higher 23 tag if it shows all it has to offer.

Very fragrant grassiness and grapefruit. Lighter weight but excellent intensity of fruit with good bolstering acidity and stone. Adds a second layer as it warms up. Excellent unadorned Sancerre.
