Wonderfully complex bottle of wine. Round, viscous mouthfeel. Apple, apricot, lemon custard and nice honeyed notes. I don't know how long this will last and it was my only bottle but it is drinking absolutely beautifully rignt now.

What I drank was the pinot gris Clos des Capucins Cuvée Ste-Catherine. Excellent pinot gris with lovely marmelade, abricot and spices flavors. It surely doesn’t show it’s age.

Excellent. Last of 6 and although this was not quite as intense as previous bottles there was still lots to love here. Honeyed and spicy, balanced and long. Paired very well with Thai red curry salmon fish cakes.

Drank over 4 days notes from memory. Medium dark yellow. Subdued nose but this was full on on the palate. Spicy, sweet but balanced and long. Needs to be served quite cool to avoid becoming flabby. Great pairing with Masaman curry.

Medium yellow, viscous pour. Orange marmalade bouquet with some spice notes. Round entry, fills every nook and cranny of the palate with ripe orchard fruit, peppery accents and a whiff of white flower blossom. Residual sugar less notable tonight than on previous occasions. Big bodied and long - well balanced.
This was a step up on prior bottles and the balance felt better tonight than in the past where I had felt the residual sugar was a touch too much. Paired very well with Panang curry.

Medium yellow. Honeyed melon bouquet. Unctuous and mouth filling from the start. Nice spicy edged acidity balancing the residual sweetness of ripe apricot here.
This does better cooler and would pair well with Thai curries. Long.

Wine-Septet meeting hosted by Hanan (Herbert Samuel restaurant): rich yellow colour rich yellow mature fruit including apricot, light honey and spice hint full bodied, good acidity, moderate structure, savoury fruity flavours, very pleasant, long enjoyable finish.

Popped and poured. Medium yellow. Bouquet is subtle and belies the impact of this wine. Rich and spicy - a honeyed edge but the main story here is a complex interplay of acid and spice. Long final of honey and peppercorn. Great interest but will be heavy handed for some. I found the alcohol noticeable on the final and was surprised to see it at 14.5% on the label.
Big wine and to my tastes very enjoyable. We paired this with a cheese fondue and it was OK, although I think something with more apparent fruit would have been a nicer pairing. I could see this playing very nicely with a Massaman curry with lamb.

Rich yellow color reveals much to come from this nicely aged 2009 vintage ( enjoyed 2013). Bouquet not overpowering but rich yellow mature fruit including apricot. Also some white pepper. But this is one that pleases the whole mouth. Full body with moderate acid structure. Long finish. Reminiscent of riesling with less acidity and more fruit. Delicious. Had with roasted sturgeon Also was great with Brie

I'm really not sure what to say about this except that it tastes like Alsace. Big, rich, and Alsace. And delicious - really enjoyed it. Initially a bit clipped on the finish, but filled out with some time in the glass. Very "vinous" rather than overtly fruity, in my opinion. Wish I had another bottle to check in on in five years or so!

Big, extracted, heady, hedonisitc. A friend suggestion we once had it with Asian food and loved it. So I had it again, we soy / mirin based cusine, and indeed loved it. Wish it was cheaper.

We took this to the Mist dinner, which is an amazing and special event. This was the second time we went to the Mist dinner, so I knew what to expect in the first 8 courses. I knew that this would pair exquistely with the opening first half of the Mist dinner, and I was right. This is an amazing wine. Just the right amount of balance between the dryness and the incredible fruit profile. There is a complexity in this wine that is impossible to find outside of an Alsace wine. There were peach notes, strawberry notes, floral notes, and even a little citrus, and yet the wine had just the amount of acid to make the wine a balanced gift. A hint of sweetness, but really closer to a dry wine. This is a wine that I have to buy more of -- it was really that good -- and it paired exceptionally well with the first 8 of 16 courses at Mist.
