Light brick, slightly cloudy. Took 20 min in the glass for the nose to open to a typical sweet black cherry, heavy on skins with a nice Gevrey minerality - lovely. Entry is delightful sweet cherry with a lot of complexity from the start. Linear profile to an elegant just slightly bitter finish. Incredibly integrated with no harsh edges. Long and smooth. The finish is not particularly acidic or tannic just lovely complexity fitting for it's age. It is not a super elegant wine, but has a masculine animalistic character with the edges rounded off. A bit like an older metrosexual man. :) We just were in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin today for lunch so perhaps I am overly romanticizing it. No matter, lovely bottle.
Light red with faint browning at the edge. Lovely wafting red fruit nose. Light weight, fully resolved, silky texture with light soil base. Crisp red berries, herbs, and a whiff of orange peel. Altogether winning village wine in full bloom. Bravo Jean-Marie Fourrier for crafting this textbook village Gevrey!

PnP. ABV 13%. Last bottle from a 6x bought right after release. Expressive nose, seems ready to go. Good mixture of dark soils, flowers, stems, and oaks. Tannins partially resolved but ready to go with its fine tannins and good balance. Vibrant acidity especially for the vintage. Very Fourrier and very enjoyable. Should be able to carry on for years.

Light cherry and quite acidic nose on opening. This opened up and blossomed well in the glass, however, to a nicely sweet, slightly floral and stony nose. Mouth is lovely with a nice tart cherry entry. Finish is also acid driven and quite long. I would give this a few more years. Extended to 2030.

Light ruby core. More black fruited than I remember most of the 2009 Fourrier's, with a strong imprint of licorice as well. Medium weight, gently sappy. Beautifully ripe but not overly exuberant black cherry and blackberry, lovely soil base and herbal complexity. This is doing very well now but has some tannins remaining that could propel it for another 3-5 years. Reassuring since I have expressed real reservations about the durability of these wines.

Compelling nose, ribbon candy, bright savory cherries, proper and good palette, but was expecting more but perhaps because it was preceded by a show stopping 2001 Raveneau Montte Tennerre.

Similar to previous bottle, delicious again. So Fourrier and so pretty. I used to miss Rousseau wines when I don’t drink his wines for a few months, now I miss Fourrier wines too after a few months.

PnP. ABV 13%. This bottle is absolutely singing on the nose. Intense flowers and spices with hints of soils at background. Joy of relatively young burgundy. Vibrant acidity, good mouthful certainly put on weight over the years, slight heat at finish though. Some oaks still lingering at backend. Open and enjoyable now but still mainly primary. Sipping this wine with the Japanese song Cape Erimo (襟裳岬) by Shinichi Mori (森進一) playing at the background, now I just need some cooler weather. Hokkaido here I come!

Coravined. Floral and 'sweet' tone on the nose. Still fairly tight, a touch more acidity than previous bottle and also put on some weight too. Slightly hot with hints of oaks at backend. Not ready yet. Decent wine but my preference has always been with Fourrier GC VV.

Good nose, floral and intense. Slightly nervy, more red fruits. Dry mid-palate with slight heat at finish. A touch metallic on the palate too. Still prefer '10/'11/'12 GC VV over this. (B)

Opened and poured, this wine gave an excellent showing. The bouquet shows nuance and dimension with expressive red fruits, spice, floral and subtle earth notes. The color is a translucent medium ruby. The medium bodied palate shows balance, intensity and length where tannins and acidity are present. This wine is focused and offers depth and along with it accessible youthfulness. This drinks well and should benefit from additional bottle age.

Wine lunch with work colleagues (Hawksmoor, Guildhall, London): Heartstoppingly wonderful. After a series of terrific non-burgundies, the pinot perfume is just so enticing, the breadth of the flavour is extraordinary, this is in a class of its own.

Good nose, floral and intense. Notes of wet earth, spicy stem, violet with toasty oak finish. More red fruits than black fruits on palate, slightly dry mid-palate. 13% alcohol with slight heat at finish. Not very long. Probably not as good as Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin VV 10' and 11', as floral as those two wines, just lighter and not as balance. Not showing well on the 3rd day, monolithic and tart finish. Buy more? Nope! Darn, just realized that I have bought a case much earlier storing IB. 88-90 pts.

Light colour with a very fragrant nose. Fresh cherry, mineral and earth. Lovely and as fragrant as they come. Strong entry with the animal coming through in a wet wool mid-mouth. This is very tasty. End strong as well with a lot of depth, nice prickly acidity and very fine tannins. This is good now actually. Excellent.

Oh wow this is unrecognizable as a village wine. Just so fresh, pure, silky, explosive with flavor. I see no reason to age this as it's spectacular right now. Bright red fruit, baking spices, and some fresh turned earth (yes, soil, but delicious soil) with that minerally freshness you would associate with a salty sea breeze crossing paths with super delicious pinot noir. Incredible wine and beats the crap out of any $60 domestic pinot. 93 now maybe another point if it gets more complex with age.

Gevreys with friends (Chez Jane): After the two 1999 villages, this was not just fruitier and fresher, it had so much more dimension, thrilling in its breadth

Slightly lighter than the village wine. More earth-driven aromatics. Light weight but silky texture and deeper flavors than the village wine. More structured as well, although still delicious now (in fact, hard to spit this one). More complex mix of red and black fruit, soft but obvious tannins. Compared to the set of '09 Fourriers I tasted at La Paulee last month, this surprised me with its focus and shapeliness. Beautiful lieux dit wine.

Decanted 4 hours prior to drinking. Dark transperant red color. Terrific nose of florels, clay and wet earth, rubber and eraser, burnt wood and wild berries and sweet cinnamon in the back. Expressive and true to its origin wich is what I love about Fourriers wines. Medium acidity on the palate well balanced and with subtle integrated tannins.
If you open one at this point be sure to give lots of air.
