Still quite primary with dark red berries violets, warm spice and earthy minerals on the nose, similar palate with a more advanced fruit profile, silky texture and focused mouthfeel with medium plus acidity and a long finish

Still quite young. Well structured tannins and a girth of fruit. Might be in a bit of transition. Not much tertiary notes to it. All this said, lots of promise.

really nice easy drinking, a little less oomph than I would typically expect for '09, but a) that's fine by me and b) it is Taillepieds after all... lovely / easy / red and dark red fruit, not too much spice or angularity (which makes sense for 2009) but enough acidity for a little lift

very nice, racy / elegant for an '09, medium body and red fruits with nice spice evolving... probably should have decanted at 8am but alas it only got 3 hours before we drank it... feels like this might be just a little closed (or if not closed, certainly lighter body than most '09's)... great stuff for sure and I think would benefit from another 5 or 10 years in cellar

Elegant, expressive and layered. Cherry liquor, black raspberries, red flowers, topsoil, gravel and a pixelated minerality. Continued to gain depth and complexity. Finishes with excellent length, vibrant energy and intensity. Love d’Angerville.

92+ pts

Really enjoyed the expressive array of dark red berries, dark florals, spices and some minerals similar palate with lots of ripe fruit and matching medium plus acidity really long finish too with a slight grip that should soften nicely with a few more years

no notes, had late in the night, remember it being reasonably good but a little tight, you could tell the body was there for sure so at some point it should blossom

April Acker Auction (Marea): An alright wine but nothing really memorable. Very light but with a good spice characteristic. Hints of fruit poking through. Very one dimensional and not a lot of evolution in the glass.

Dark ruby. Nose has ripe cherries, hint of vanilla. Medium bodied. Sweet in the mouth, veering on the edge of new world Pinot. Still Very young, will benefit from further ageing. 13.5% abv.

Very good. Seemed to have more age than 7 years. Lovely bright Pinot with plenty of complexity. Not sure I'd leve it 5 years but given the vintage it will probably last that long. It had the structure to cope with some v flavoured food

Popped, poured and drank over 2.5hrs. Mostly black cherry on the nose with an alluring array of sweet brown spices and some darker floral tones. The same black cherry came through on the palate as well as clove with a bit of nutmeg. Great rich texture that seemed to expand in the mouth. Medium plus body with a long, seamless finish. No doubt this has a long life ahead, but it is quite tasty now.

drank over two nights, this is a big burg with plenty of fruit (as you wld expect from 2009), but very nicely done, very linear with great acid to balance the fruit, not much secondary there yet but feels like it is coming, should be even better in five to ten, but - a la some '90's wines - i'm not sure this will last 25 years, good news is that i don't see it shutting down for 15 years either (like the '96's)

Merci Yves
