Amazed how well this 2009 has held up even drinking in 2022. Enjoyed every sip. Cork still solid unlike some of my other bottles from other wineries from 08/09 I’ve been working through. Needs some air but still so balanced and a classic WV Pinot.

Although the wine surpassed the prime drinking window, it nevertheless delivered as a classic Pinot from the Willamette Valley. Decanted for 30 minutes (no problem with the cork), the wine was bursting with strawberry & rasberry flavors and had a smooth, silky finish. If properly cellared, the 2009 Pinot may have another 3-4 years left.

APPEARANCE: Typical pinot color AROMA: Heavy aroma of spinach. Interesting, but a little awkward TASTE: Leather and spice with heavy doses of cranberries and sour cherries

Served with sautéed duck breast. Relatively full mouthfeel for an Oregon Pinot Noir. Almost a floral nose with strawberries in the initial taste and mid-range, and a relatively short finish. this is a good Oregon Pinot, but not an exceptional one.

Nice garnet with lighter orange edge; a bit of sediment. Lovely PN aroma, light cherry. Bright acidity with good, round balance. Very good now; drink within a year.

Crimson color at the core turning transparent rust at the rim with an earthy, leathery nose with hints of cinnamon and bay leaf. The palate is light-bodied, a bit flimsy but silky in texture with proper aeration. Flavors of cherries, currants, suede leather, and tobacco form the core with hints of minerals and dried herbs. Drink now with 30-minutes decant until 2019.

Med pig'd, red plums w/ a floral note, tart maybe more so than the meat of the wine can support fully as when drinking alone while preparing dinner it came across a little acrid though the acids were much appreciated once dinner was served

Somewhat light but vibrant color...cherry and strawberry flavors with a hint of florals, it's a lively wine with nice mouthfeel and would pair well with salmon.
Served with grilled salmon, did not decant. Slightly restrained nose of cherries, nutmeg, and strawberries, moderate mouthfeel, somewhat short length. Still, a somewhat restrained Oregon Pinot that is lovely to drink and within a good price range.

Roses and red fruits dominate the nose, but there's also a touch of barnyard and toasty cinammon. Very juicy on the palate, with both floral and berry elements. Ample acidity on the finish. A delicious wine that I could drink all day! 90-92pts.
When I tasted this, I was not aware of the cost, and figured I would pick up some for myself, but the PA price of $35 is just a bit too steep; $20-25, sure.

Nice Pinot purchased from a local wine list. Fruit is dense, but not sappy and shows cherry pie, raspberry and some earth notes. Great wine, but the balance needs to come together better. Bitter tannins hold it back.

Light ruby color. Soft nose of some leather and some red fruit. Dark berries, spice and light mocha taste. Somewhat strong tannins, low acidity leading to medium finish. Not what I look for in a Pinot. Seemed to be aspiring to be a typical Cali cab or merlot. Was only half way there in no-man's land.

Vastly different impressions of my 2 bottles of this. This one, on the first night, was totally out of balance with overpowering oak. Tasted like rasberry juice with cedar chips floating in it. Improved for nights 2-3 in that it was much more balanced, though not really anything to write home about.

Light in color, the nose revealed bright red fruit including strawberry, cherry and hints of earth. The mouth feel added a pleasant and unexpected spicy character. The finish was moderate. Well balanced and well made. A joy to drink. Enjoyed with friends at The Back Burner restaurant in Hockessin, DE/twh

Light red color in the glass, very attractive, but appears a touch thin. Cherry and a touch of mushroom on the nose.
Cherry flavors predominate. Minimal tannins and virtually no oak present. Some burgundian flavoring, but that's very muted and it's all about the fruit.
Nice Pinot, easy drinking, but not terribly expressive.

Ruby and cola with med-lite viscosity in the glass. Forest floor, cherry, spice and cedar on the nose. Med-lite body with ripe raspberry, cherry, earth and burnt toast on the palate. Soft, round fruit. Short finish. Simple and drinkable.

bright cherry red that looked beautiful in the glass. some hints of earth and some green elements on the nose to start, turning to pomegranate and cranberry. some spice notes layered in as well. flavors of sour cherry and a hint of syrupy medicine. the tart sour streak held on for a good amount of time, although it sometimes tended towards sour pickles.

Rodney and Linda Abee's Almost Annual Wino's Appreciation Party (Chateau Abee, Bakersfield Road, Columbia, SC): This is a pretty familiar Pinot among the wine lovers in Columbia. I have been served this by different wine buddies who don't know each other. To me, this Pinot is pretty Burgundian in it's flavor profile. I'm sure most of the wines in this asemblage were Burgundy clones. This is one of those very light in color wines that is almost a wolf in sheeps clothing upon tasting. The nose is red fruit with some floral tones. Relatively fruit forward with cherry pie flavor backed up with some of those earthy, out in the woods sort of flavors. There is that cinnamon and brown spice affect going on. Minimal use of oak, but still rounded, even almost elegant. There are some tannins which are slightly bitter that would benefit from some bottle age.

Somewhat muted aromas of cranberry upon opening. With air, aromas of plum, black cherry and a hint of smoke. After more time, spice and richer red fruit are added. Light bodied with gentle tannins and good cleansing acidity being a constant from the beginning. On the back end, a good dose of fruit attacks before a shortish finish. A subtle and elegant, yet complex, Pinot for being so young and a nice bottle for the money. Not one for the ages, but very well made and the acidity should help it develop for a couple of years. Very good to excellent QPR.

Champagne Varietals (Farpointe Cellar): The nose is heavy on the perfume, with some cherry and forest floor behind that. It ended with some spice. Spicy on the palate, with restrained notes of cherry and raspberry. It's a little green on the mid-palate, but the earthy finish is good.

P&P at party. Color dark ruby, clear, medium body. Reticent bouquet of blackberries, dark plums, a little spice, and oak. On taste, delicious dark fruit, sweet spice, toasty oak. Modest tannins, medium finish. Overall pleasant (87), but I did not enjoy it as much as the '08 Adelsheim Willamette we had a couple months ago. Coming back to this later, my palate must have been wrecked after drinking a Sagrantino, because this tasted quite sweet and very simple.

I was expecting more from this one. It was served a little too warm by the restaurant so it was behind from the start. This was a bright Pinot with nice acidity, went well with food. Good fruit on the nose but lacking from mid-palate on. I need to try this one at home under ideal conditions, I think it would shine a little better.
