Basically orange in color at this point. Creamy. Rose petals, strawberry and some darker red fruits. Crispy acidity. This is very solid and more approachable than I remember.

Pale orange rose. Nose of roses and some alcohol. Crisp entry, strawberry and cherry. Finishes with some sweetness, a sense of RS and brown sugar. There are other roses that I can get more excited about.

Enjoyed before dinner at Farmstead Restaurant at Long Meadow Ranch Vineyards. Clean and crisp. Nice clarity of the fruit and mineral qualities. Not too acidic. Lean and refreshing.

I opened this when friends dropped by on 12/31/11…same notes as in October…powerful, fragrant bouquet of strawberry, watermelon, mineral and spice aromas…the palate followed exactly and was thoroughly delicious. 90+

Light copper color, like the eye of the partridge. Nice but faint nose of clover, roses, and grapefruit, with mushroom notes. Off-dry on the palate with a hint of watermelon and licorice. Metallic notes in the finish. This is a rosé, but it drinks more like a white wine. It's pleasant. And it's adventurous, like most wines from this producer, but overall there is not much going on. It's good but not great.

Wednesday before Thanksgiving - Mom and Dad - and lots-o-cheese follwed by pizza - a good time was had by all. Popped this one for Dad - he enjoyed it.

Thursday night at home with sushi - on the night before a Friday day off (Veteran's Day and trip to Philly planned). Wine stood up very well next to the strong flavors.

I had this after work on 10/7/11. It had a powerful and intriguing bouquet of strawberry, watermelon, mineral and spice aromas. The palate was powerful and intense with flavors that followed the nose exactly. It carried its high alcohol very well. 90+

Strawberries, sweet flower, and summer on the nose. The palate matches the nose for the most part, albeit more intense. More sweetness than the nose indicates; lychee, melons, and rose water. The finish has faint astringency but really does not hinder the wine; it just makes it not seamless. What a delicious wine, and nothing like any other rose I have tasted. I am really digging Abe’s wines. 9/10 they are an amazing experience, and usually delicious. I will drink my remaining bottle neat the end of summer.

Not a traditional Rose (which is why I buy from this winery) except for the red/salmon tinge color. Palate is textured finishing with the weight of a Chardonnay. 15+% carries it alc ok. Did not experience anything off-putting on nose or palate. Nose develops in glass.

Scholium Project Whites (Weygandt Wines, Cleveland Park, Washington D.C.): Pretty orangey-pink tones in the glass. This comes from 140 year old Cinsault grapes from Lodi. Nose started out attractive with small berry, minerals, and rose water. The nose did change over time to develop a dense nuttiness that was unlike anything I'd ever experienced on a Rose. The palate was tricky. The mid-palate had nice florals and strawberry, but the finish developed some weird cheese and vegetable notes that were a bit off-putting. The folks I drank this with were a bit more turned off by the finish than I was, but it was undeniably harsh.
