The crimson wine is more translucent than years past from my memory (candied jolly rancher). The nose offers earth, canned/stewed berries, and some umami mushroom as a nice note. The palate offers more of what the nose promised albeit more subdued. There is a nice acidity here and it is balanced with the fruit. The wine has less funk than the previous years version (a good thing in my opinion). Paired with various cheeses, it contributed to most of them and stood up to St. Agur on a cracker. Very little tannin on the some five-second-long finish. I wouldn’t buy to hold but I will buy to drink. This is a solid Pinot Noir and is different than most Okanagan Pinots. Worth seeking out if you are a Pinot lover made in this style. I think that the potential with Code wine is promising and can only improve.

Amazing nose. The Palate does some justice but remains overly sweet. It wants to have mushroom and berries that the nose offered but falls short. This is my first 2021. 2020 faired better by my palate. There is potential in this style and with the Okanagan fruit. A different year may provide a more nuanced Pinot Noir. I look forward to the next release.
