Beautiful white fruit on he nose, slightly candied. The mouth has excellent volume on the attack and it finishes with some fresh acidity hinting this was not yet fully ready. From magnum

beautifully made! Good balance of fruits (quince) and notes of evolution (wax, hay). Concentrated and complex. Nice tension which makes it fresh. Long finish! Perfect time to drink it.

White Loire: A bit more of everything compared to the FdP version. A bit more expressive, more aromatic, also had the same green note on the nose. The nose reminded me somewhat of an oaked 1er Cru Chablis - Raveneau or Dauvissat. Palate was milder and softer than FdP version, but it was juicy and lively as well. A touch more of accidity here. A touch of unripe fruits, but FdP was a touch unripe as well. Probably FdP had more intense palate, while this had more intense nose. But overall they were quite close and grafted version a much better QPR.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape session (Extra Space): 2nd time trying this lovely wine. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow-gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral honeysuckle, salty + stony minerality, ripe citrus fruit,. Developing. On the palate, I now think this is dry, bright high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, sweet apple, honeysuckle, salty + stony minerality. Long finish. Very good acidity and nice mineral streak. Very good quality. Enjoy and will still develop over next 10 years.

Yellow pale gold. Lovely lifted quite rich nose of honey, some nuttiness and citrus notes. Quite a complex medium to full bodied palate reinforcing the nose but all kept in check with fresh acid - more than I expected of a 2009. This will be lovely over the next 5 years.

High Acidity Whites (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Pop and ppured and drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow-gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral honeysuckle, honey, stony minerality, citrus lime. Developing. On the palate, off-dry, bright high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon-lime, green apple, honey, honeysuckle, stony minerality. Long finish. Beautiful acidity and lovely balance with just a touch of sweetness. This had me guessing a good Riesling at first. Very good quality. Can drink now, and will continue to develop nicely over the next 10 years.

Grapemates Christmas Party (Atelier, Sydney): Sweaty, lemon, floral and pineapple - nice intensity to the aromatics. There is good rich fruit but the acidity cuts through nicely, with a flinty note that I found pleasing. Really very good.

Bibendum Portfolio Tasting: Intense floral perfume with lemon pie, lanolin and pineapple. There is crunchy acidity and good fruit weight to balance. Good length.

This is yet another winner from Chidaine, and I have not found any losers. Even so, this is particularly special, even for him. Loads of chalky mineral on the nose, along with some telltale wet wool, steely and gravelly mineral, lemon, ripe apples and pears, all kinds of interesting spice notes (ginger, dried sage), a bit of dusty earth, I could go on and on. There is tremendous complexity here, plenty of acidic lift (high acid), and the wine is basically dry. This is truly one of the best values out there: under $30 and outstanding.

Color - med yellow, heading towards golden. Palate - vibrant citrus with apple and pear. Persistent drive on the finish.
Nose - fresh fruit salad served over crushed rock. Oily.
Palate-coating but fresh and lively at the same time. Powdery minerality on the palate. Tastes totally dry to me. Very bright citrusy/acidic finish.
Day 3 - still packed pretty tight. Tons of citrus/crushed stone/minerality.

Medium yellow. Lovely round citrus rather than pear aromatics. Off dry, medium weight, creamy yet firm, very lightly honeyed. Beautiful now.
