  • A point. It’s fully resolved and elegant Bojo. A low key Moulin. Just a touch of pleasing funk on finish. Drink nowish

  • Popped and poured. Pretty expressive and exciting on the nose: plenty of ripe, dark-toned fruits, bright and lively throughout. Just a very, very slight note of VA that really adds to the whole. A strong feel of soil without any dominant note of that ilk, mostly just stony and minerally nuances. On the palate it is just wonderful. Not large scaled but has terrific concentration and nice chewiness to it. Lots of lively dark fruit with excellent structure and a really firm mouthfeel. Savory and refreshing, markedly alive and vibrant. I would call it muscular but without any negative connotation whatsoever. By all means it has downright perfect proportions and just an impeccable balance. It is still on its way up but an absolute delight right now.

  • I've liked my other bottles of this wine without being too impressed. This one is the best so far, taken at near-refrigerator temperature with an open-faced, pulled chicken sandwich. From memory, so few details, but nice flavors, balance, acid cut, but a slightly stern, very dry aspect that gave it a bit of extra class. Very good indeed.

    I think, drink these now.

  • High acid, lacking fruit and charm, indeed a bit onedimensional.

  • Well-made cru Beaujolais with attractive balance comprising charming cherry-strawberry fruit flavor together with a crisp acid spine and just enough tannic pucker to make for a satisfying red tipple. Good for a mid-week glass to accompany the evening meal. Brun's cru wines - to my taste - are distinguished by their purity and good balance, but not by depth or complexity, even in the context of Beaujolais wines.

I'd expect to cellar a cru Desvignes or Coudert longer, waiting for additional development, but this wine strikes me one with virtues best enjoyed now or within a year or two.

  • I opened 2 bottles and one was flawed the other did not show signs of improvements from bottles drank previously. Dark sherry, powerful fruits, no tertiary notes developing. I suggest drinking now, not sure it will gain additional complexity.

  • This is a good, but not a great, Beaujolais, presently drinking well. Not an expressive bouquet. But dark fruit, earth, smokey barbeque and black liquorice notes. It's got good weight, power and volume. A similar flavour profile as on the nose, but not hugely detailed. A little ferric minerality. Positive acididty means it's in balance. Not hugely long. No hurry needed here. I'd expect the Moulin-à-Vent to drink in this style for many years ...

  • Very pretty, cherry with some edge to it. I'd guess it'll continue to smooth and develop complexity for a few years, but it's hard to imagine it getting much better with food than it is right now. Excellent - open one if you have more than a couple.

(~20 sec.) Se confond à certains Pinot Noir...Miam!

  • I wrote 1/2 year ago that I should wait 2 years with the last bottle, and here we go: Still developed dark fruit aromas, but also vivid and pure in the mouth, and with plenty of fruit. Even if this is a Moulin-A-Vent and should store well, I feel this, like most Beaujolais', are best very young.

  • Developed dark fruit aromas, but still vivid and pure in the mouth, and with plenty of fruit. Good structure. Keep the last bottle for two years and see what happens.

  • Light to medium body. 12% alcohol. Nice dark cherry and licorice nose. Good acidity and tannins. Dark cherry, cola, raspberry, cinnamon flavors. Good food wine. Could use a few more years. Very good value.

  • Red fruit (raspberry, cherry), nice spice, nice acidity. A little darker
than Tremblay Moulin a Vent (drank a couple nights previous). Nice minerality. Pretty open. Really enjoyable.

  • Floral and musky nose, pretty good. Slightly more red fruits on the palate . Notes of strawberry, raspberry and oak, very little hint of soil. Not very long with slight heat at finish. A bit lean and simple at the moment. Better on the nose than on the palate, I would not rush out and buy another one. 87-89 pts.

  • I'm so so on this wine. There is a lot of quality here but it flits and flickers and teases and then shuts up shop. Quite reserved and closed right now but there is some cherries, strawberry and coconut notes. A few years tucked away will do this no harm.

  • Weekly tasting group #048; Beaujolais (@ CvR): Friendly bouquet with creamy red fruits. On the palate cherries, raspberry and some strawberry and a bit greenish. Cherry bitterness and a bit sticky tannin. See also previous note.

  • Very one dimensional the first day, to the point of boredom. The second day, with lots more air, the complexity finally started emerge a bit. Hold for at least another year or so.

  • Tasted too young and (foolishly) a little bit too cold.

  • Too early. Wait a few years.

  • Needs about 20 minutes in a decanter to settle down, then rich with fruity acidity, in a youthfully-stern 2010 kind of way, with ample tannins. After a bit, the tannins overwhelm the flavor, and you are left with a sense of buried treasure. Worth drinking a bottle or two young, but it's a Moulin, so let the rest slumber a bit.

  • Light transparent red. Reticent bouquet. On the palate cherries and strawberries, medium bodied and firm acidity as well as some tannin. In this stage the wine is not really pleasurable. Wait until 2017. The score can only go up.

  • Refreshingly tart forest berry and cherry nose with slight funk and perfumy nuances.
Slightly lifted medium bodied palate with refreshing acidity, tart cherry fruit and tannic grip. Animality, a touch of yoghurt and quite some perfume. Wonderfully refreshing finish.
Surely young, but seems classically proportioned. One to cellar.
