Wines from this chateau always have sentimental value to me as my dad bought a case of '83 as my birth year wine.
Expected it already to be on the downward slope but it showed pretty nice. Margaux perfume on the nose. Classic bordeaux red fruits, cedar, leather some dustiness, good acidity but unfortunately also a green note. medium long finish. Good to see a 12,5%er again. This is how Bordeaux used to be I guess..
So although this Chateau is a steady underperformer for its price, I still quite like it..

Austrinken.

Garnet with a red brick rim. Faded nose but still had the Margaux flowers (dried roses and carnations), cassis and black cherries, later leather, Earth and broth. Unfortunately the beginnings of cork taint too. Fading fruit on the palate but good trait tannins and acidity to balance.

Tanins good structured but not integrated , bitter almond, wild chery, needs at least 2-3 hrs air, nice nose with some juicy red berries, dark chocolate, wait another 2 years - might improve, when tanins gets smother, but not for long term aging acity might get dominant

Poured a glass from a half bottle and followed over 90 min. Garnet with translucent rim. Initially some barnyard and a slight green touch on the nose, then red and dark fruit, some flowers, light to medium body, fine tannins. Relatively short finish. Gains some weight with about an hour of air but still a bit thin. Will not improve - drink within the next few years. 87-88

Pretty nose of red fruit with a hint of mint leaf and tobacco on the nose. Firm tannins but structured and well balanced. A very refined poise, and a fine young drinking wine.

The 2004 vintage comprised 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot 30%, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The nose shows red berry fruit including cherry and strawberry. After some time in the glass, it opened up to cassis and vanilla. One the palate - juicy black fruits, subtle, well-integrated tannins and a persistent elegant finish. Absolutely delicious!

Very pleasant wine. More fruit-driven for a classed Bordeaux rather than terribly complex. Good wine and not bad value. Some burnt sugar (caramel), darker red fruits (not really towards blackberry though). Decent tannin structure. Like to see what a few years more age does.

Light crimson in colour. Precise nose of ripe red fruit with a touch of leather and brown sugar. Fine tannins, light to medium bodied with decent length. Very pure, balanced wine; understated, and very pleasant indeed.

Vertical of Rauzan-Gassies: Zingy dried orange zest on a bed of flowers and placed on a hot zinc roof. Balanced approach of silky red currant fruits and light blue flowers. Fine tannins. Very fairly styled.

잘 숙성된 보르도의 아름다움. 과실과 숙성향의 균형이 좋음. 피크 이후 9부 능선 정도에 위치.

Reticent dark fruit, mineral and oak on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth, developed, matured dark fruit with a mineral aspect. Very nice.

Light in color, fruit, complexity and probably fully mature.

Mature bord'. Drinking well. Not mega complex but good. Deep red fruits. typical Cab Sav notes I'd say. Well balanced.

Still a great drink on a winter night. Noticed a touch of sur maturite this evening. Nothing especially complex but just delicious.

Another great bottle, although not quite as good as I remembered it at the vineyard!
