Quite advanced colour, initially caramel on the nose and very closed. With time and air an exuberantly floral nose emerges, Ripe pear fruit, mint and citrus very complex Rich fruit and acidity on the palate, but a little hollow. Very enjoyable but not a good bottle: a little oxidised.

Ramonet Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA): Darkest color, ripe juicy fruit. Finishes a bit broad with less focus and intensity than the other wines. Delicious nevertheless.
The reveal was surprising, this seems a bit advanced for 12 year old Montrachet, but may well be representative of the aging curve for this vintage.

Montrachet and Musigny: Delightfully pure stone fruit on the nose, showing peach, nectarine, apricot, as well as pear, some green tea leaves and musky floral notes. The fruit power reigns on the palate, it is punchy and ripe at first while maintaining balance and freshness throughout. With time in the glass it tightened up, though it still retained its pure fruit drive. Delicious and delightful.

Served semi-blind -- told the wine but not the vintage. Guessed '06 as it was very sweet right from the pop and pour. In time, the mid palate filled out. Eventually, palate staining mineral and endless finish. This is excellent but drink sooner than later.
Also interesting that this was unrecognizable, to me, from last time I had '09. It's better today, but quite different.

Thirteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Part of me thinks this was a shame to open so late in the evening. But the fact that this was almost everybody's favorite wine of the night serves testament to how great this wine actually is. So much of everything good.

2009 DOMAINE RAMONET MONTRACHET GRAND CRU- one of the most amazing white Burgs I`ve had in a long time; it had all of the attributes that makes up a spectacular wine; the colour was yellow gold; the nose had honeysuckle, lemon, apple and pear; the taste profile was more of the apple and pear with a touch of spice; the hallmarks for me were the mouthfeel, flavours and incredible balance; it had just enough viscosity to call it oily like which contributed to carrying all of the treasures over the palate to the back end and then with staying power; it was steady, round and seamless; a perfect wine IMHO

Ramonet in Alsace (Domaine Albert Mann in Wettolsheim): Make that "I really, really like". Coming from Jeroboam, this wine was just amazing. There were layers and layers of flavors combining white flower, white pear and apricot and wet stone, among others. Sure this is coming from a solar vintage. But it hardly lacked vivacity, there was brightness to the wine, that kept it tense and taut and eager to go into your mouth. Believe me, many participants kept coming back for more, as did I.
2nd Most Epic Burgundy Dinner (Boulevard - San Francisco CA): Served blind in what turned out to be Coche CC and Ramonet Montrachet flight. All open several hours before serving. Also showcasing ripe apple and pear with lots of spice. This kept evolving in glass and getting increasing nuanced and interesting. An overall beauty already.

From magnum this was absolutely delicious. There's some spice to the aroma along with tangerine, pure white peach, honeysuckle and mineral. It is rich and unctuous with so much mid-palate sap. Flavours build and there's so much power without heaviness. Length is superb.

Nose very closed. Light straw color. Some mint, citrus, minerals on nose. Big middle palate. Long sweet finish. A baby of a wine. This will age for a long time if it avoids the pox. 94

Superb. It was exotic with some banana and aniseed on the nose. It was explosive and layered in the mouth with a rich butteriness. The finish drove on and on

Light color and all flavors light, but perfectly balanced. Cotton candy, honeydew melon on the finish. This is going to be a very special wine. Only the first chapter of a 10 chapter book. If you're lucky enough to have some, wait 6-8 years or drink it up and enjoy a unique white wine!

Vino destinato a durare in eterno. La bizzarria della perfezione.

A Ramonet Montrachet Vertical & 1999 Grand Cru Horizontal, Mostly Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (The Grill - New York NY): Served alongside the 2008. Both opened two hours before serving. Enticing aromas with ripe apple and pear with floral and mint notes. Similar flavors, just somewhat riper and less nuanced for now. Impressive concentration with very good length.
