Undergrowth, savory notes, and dark gamay fruit on the nose. It's deep and structured for Beaujolais with lovely umami and forest floor notes. Savory as much as fruit driven at this point, with some meaty ferrous notes developing with a sense of stoniness. A cohesive, detailed wine were noting really stands out, they each coalesce into a greater whole. Good length. Drinking beautifully right now. 90

Fairly dark red. Sort of muted nose, not giving much, some blackberry and cherry, earthy notes. On the palate, it's a bit lean and thin and a bit alcoholic at the same time. Bad phase I'd say, but this bottle really wasn't much fun.
Much better after three days open. The nose is a tiny bit dusty, but it's much more open and the fruit is much more defined now. Also better in the mouth, likewise more open, more harmonic and with more Gamay character. I'm hopeful that three or four years cellartime will do this wine good.
Same notes as 1/2 year ago: Pure Beaujolais aromas of boiled candy and a touch of banana and spice. Great acidity and structure with a touch of tannins. Perfectly balanced and a pleasure to drink.

(Mich's Bday Brunner) Spices and sour cherries on the nose, with loose loamy earth, graphite and violets. Still young and grippy tannins, sweet, ferrous, and a curious off-fishiness which blows off thankfully. Pretty and layered, drinking very well now. Elegant for a Gamay and a great food wine!

Obvious carbo-maceration banana aroma on the nose, alongside cherry and dust. Light to medium bodied with high acidity and silky texture. Some very pure and bright ripe cherry fruit coats the palate, until the acids dry the palate leaving the mouth watering. Nice raspberry and iron flavors emerge towards the finish. Very good grip and precision here; this is just as moreish as expected. While this does not come off as a particularly complex wine, it offers a nice enough spectrum of flavors and combines well ripe, lean fruit with a saline component. A bit short finish, but an enjoyable and highly drinkable wine nonetheless.
2nd day: The weird note has completely vanished from the nose and things have gotten a lot more interesting: the nose is way darker, quite savoury and has an awesome consommé note. On the palate the wine has definitely grown and feels more structured, leaving a considerably drier mouthfeel. Overall, it's now a more serious wine. Yesterday I wasn't sure, but now I definitely believe that this will improve with some years aging.

Was expecting a touch more complexity from a Foillard - pretty average Beaujolais to be honest - crisp, firm fruit and tangy finish. Lacks the funky depth and complexity of some of his other wines.

This was an eye opener for me. I have never tasted or been drinking a good red wine this south in Burgundy. Beaujolais for me has been the same as banana and lemonade but here we have a serious wine. Quiye closed nose initially but after some time there is a nice mature(?) fruit and yes there is some banana but its a mix of fruit. The structure in the mouth is lovely and there is tons of various fruit. Red and yellow. Pretty long after taste and I can see this develop very well with time. A top wine. i am sorry I did not buy more. A last note: The wine is called Morgon "Premiere". This was my premiere for a serious Beaujolais and it will not be my last. Made my day.

First good Beaujolais I've had. The nose screams strawberries and after a while black pepper. So does the mouth. Together with the Gamay-distinct banana-candy, it goes from ripe strawberries to raspberry-jam-seeds. It is rich in meat juices and the tannins keep low profile but comes after a while. Smells some alcohol in the end. If I hadn't had a little too much to drink when I drank this, I would've scored higher.

The ‘garden variety’ Morgon from Foillard in 2010 is one of the most delicious luncheon reds I’ve had in a long time. It is vibrant and punchy with aromas of fresh raspberries, violets, cherries and sap. It is sweet and lacy in the mouth with fruits that are sumptuous with a crunchy edge. There are light botanicals lacing the finish and one is left with a cherry stone imprint once the wine is swallowed.

Popped and poured. Nice, ripe and fleshy mouthfeel but quite also quite dry, with minerally acidity and some tannins, too. Medium length. Sleek, classic style. Pretty nice.
