Slow ox several hours then decanted for four hours. Tremendous nose, very floral. Red fruit on the palette well balanced moderate acidity and hint of sweetness but not too much. Tannins not prominent. Definitely in drinking window with air. Beautiful wine and welcome reprieve from the cab sauv onslaught at the tasting. Glad i have 3 bottles left

2010 Red Burgundy (Allen & Overy, London): Beautifully deep nose, sophisticated and stemmy. Rather stony on the palate, with delicate red fruit and some greenish musk, all the notes well integrated with one another: full-flavoured without being full-bodied. Finally, a long, mineral-inflected and austere finish. Goodness me, what a wine - my clear favourite tonight (and more ready than most of tonight's premier crus, too).

Did not decant and drunk over 2.5 hours. Pale ruby. Fragrant red fruit aromas which evolved to become more stemmy and meaty after a while in the glass. Fresh, vibrant acidity, like crushed rocks. Fine tannins that still need some more time to settle. Concentrated black cherry with a lick of spice on the end. Great persistence. Lovely wine, very pleased I've got a few more of these.

Coffee and chocolate on the nose. Red and dark fruit. Also a touch of a gamey/meaty note. Silky texture with great presence. Wonderful now though will no doubt continue to age beautifully.

Took about 90 minutes to open up then was signing for the next few hours. Refined gevrey spice. Elegant palate that showed grand cru texture and weightlessness. Still too young and better in 5 years.

France 2011 - Côte d'Or; 7/8/2011-7/13/2011 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. From barrel. A very complex nose of red berries, toasty oak and hints of meat. In the mouth its got concentrated yet reserved flavours. Good acidity and grippy tannins. A complex wine already but it’s fairly tight. Has an airy mouth feel. Lots of potential here. (90-93).

Red of the night. The nose is haunting. The wine is complex and quite long. Still more of a nose wine. Nice drinking window here.
