Summer 2014 Partying: Opulent and creamy; characteristics I feel have come along with some bottle age. Apricot and peach notes predominate with some spice accents. WOTN contender.

Vibrant aromas of green apple, citrus and slate. The palate matches- sour green apple, slate, and lime juice. Medium-length acidic-driven finish. Well made, complex and easy to drink. Drinkable now if you like up-front acid but should age a long time.

An explosively aromatic nose marked by ripe, bright limes, candied green apples, hard apple cider, pineapple, and gray rocks and slate minerality. The palate is sweet (showing definite RS) and almost has enough acid to seem dry. While it isn't terribly complex, it's exceptionally gulpable -- and an incredible value at under $20.

Fragrant aromas of citrus and spice. Full bodied flavors of minerals and citrus in the front. On the back end, a complex and evolving finish with vibrant acid, some sweetness and a bit of spritz. Flavors here include minerals, citrus, and stone fruit, among others.

Tasted again along side the I-B CAI 2010. Both spectacular at this level. The I-B is mouthpuckering -- high-toned tropical fruits, citrus and zest, rocks, and screeching acid. The Lauer is a little more subdued in comparison -- lots of minerality and acid, but the fruit is more lychee and guava. Both great on this hot evening.

Consistent with previous tasters' notes. RIPE, a touch of RS (not trocken, but not far off), tons of broad fruit, but with almost balancing acidity. This is indeed delicious and fruit-laden, but don't get it if your looking for a slate laser of acid freshness.

Pretty good and sneaky stuff. Starts off on the palate as broad, a little fat and sweet but quickly funnels into a mix of acid, slate, and sweet tropical fruits. Finishes dry but the RS is there. Interesting and enjoyable for its level.

Lots of acid, sugar, and stone: a bit like three parts lemonade, one part cider, and some pulverized pebbles. Like a couple other off-dry baby Rieslings I've had lately, fairly enjoyable but with a slightly unappealingly "grainy" mouthfeel. Is that the wines' infancy, quality level, varietal character, terroir, or consistently gritty wineglasses? Must learn much more about Riesling.

Another great bottle of this wine. Searing acidity, but plenty of fruit to support it. Very long and mineral. Fantastic value.

Citrus fruit; due to the racy, crisp acidity I did not perceive the RS. Very good value, very drinkable.

Same as previous note. Great value, seriously. Poured for friends, and it was gone in a flash.

Yeasty orange fruit, and a stony background note. Good overall, but I would have liked a bit more bite.

Not fully dry, but enough acid to cut through the sweetness. A bit of apple-cidery notes. Great daily drinker.
