Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Marea - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Bright lemon, some apple, still nicely fresh with some ripe hints but more green (not in the bad way). Good length with a still energetic finish.

Almost six years since I last tasted this, and the wine has held up very well. It has that magical colour of well-matured white Burgundy, intense but lively, a green-tinged full buttercup yellow; the nose opens up beautifully in the glass, with wonderfully fresh and complex aromas, an array of citrus fruits, flowers and green herbs, and still an attractive hint of matchstick; the palate is firmly structured, fresh and well defined, elegant and flowing, without any signs of decay or fatigue, although it has lost some of its flesh; the finish is light but displays a nice succulence and length is very good. Fully mature, but still with some time in hand.

Pristine bottle. Youthful appearance, intense colour but light for age; impressive depth and concentration on the nose, meaty, earthy, spicy oak, herbs, ripe citrus, topnotes of flowers and honey; the palate displays a lovely balance between power and elegance, harmonious, salty minerality, ripe acidity; slight lack of concentration on the finish but very good length. A stylish BBM, at peak but with (some) time in hand, a worthy representative of an august terroir in a difficult vintage. Completely intact on the second day, a bit more harmonious but with slightly faded flavours.

Citrus nose, minerals, wet stone, buttered popcorn on the nose. Nice weight and excellent creamy texture on the palate. Perhaps a bit flabby, but I liked it. Medium finish. Nice balance.

Heavy sulfur dominates the nose - throwing it in the decanter and heavily aerating in the glass helps it blow off somewhat, but this never fully blossomed over a 3 hour period. I have had much better bottles that allowed the intensity, Mineral and lightly floral nature of this wine to shine. Disappointing.

Wonderful intensity, salty minerality, depth, creamy lemon, excellent acidity, a bit earthy too, hint of flowers, light structure, good length. Does not seem to have a lot in reserve, drinking well, very good rather than great. Drink now - 2014.

Wow. Beautiful texture- very rich, but still elegant. Layers of lemon, vanilla, subtle oak, orange peel and on and on.Just impossibly delicious, and not a trace of oxidization.

Minerality mixed with deep rich pear, peach and lemon grass nose. Light golden colour. Deep buttery tastes of orange, spice, butterscotch, apple and pear. Very well rounded and an excellent burg.

2004 Puligny Montrachet's: Groups #8, My #6 - Onion skin nose with perhaps the biggest dose of sulfer of all 8 wines tasted. Leaves me with a dull note bringing forward my salivary glands. Highly extracted compared to some of the others.

France Trip Part 3 - Burgundy; 6/20/2006-6/23/2006: Tasted at the domaine w/ Paul Pernot. Tighter and more closed than the 2005. Great nose of minerals and white flowers. Fat at first, then the acidity kicks in. Very good to excellent.

Tasted at the domaine. Slightly closed on the nose. Softer and broader on the palate than the Folatieres. Citrus. Nice underlying minerality. Fain caramel. Very impressive.

On the hot side, good acidity, very typical to the producer profile. 92

Lemon-lime on the nose, very green. Somehow I get goat butter in this. Not really my style of wine although I can appreciate that it is very elegantly done.

La Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Vancouver) - Summer Luncheon 2013 (Vancouver, BC): This was quite rich and tropical in profile but has the energy and acidity to keep everything in balance. Round and rich on the entry but then there's plenty of cut and acidity on the finish. Excellent.

Didn't enjoy nearly as much as a prior tasting as the citric grapefruit flavour dominated all else it had to offer.
