Elegant, mature, delicious. In fact the best flavors appeared as we finished the bottle, three hours after it was opened. The whole cluster winemaking was especially apparent on the nose and as we first started drinking. But then it evolved into a balanced, elegant Dundee Hills Pinot noir. Serious, classic wine.

It has long been a tradition to broach a White Rose on Thanksgiving and this time the 2009 vintage was up for grabs. First time with the White Rose Vineyard in over 5 years. I am pleased to report that, contrary to a previous CT note, this is far from being past its drink-by date. Far from it. Clear pale garnet in the glass with a hint of brick; oh the aroma is so wonderful on opening, fragrant and effusive, floral notes, that Burgundian wildness; rich tart red cherries, hints of clove and other spice, quite tart, jammy. So, yes, by all means drink, but you don't have to panic.

Starting to show it's age. Brickish color coming on the rim. It's beginning to offer up signs of cinnamon and cardamon, dried cherry and rose petal. Silky smooth and layered. It's evolving very beautifully and quickly for a younger wine. It's drinking beautiful now and imagine it should be enjoyed sooner rather than later.

Drank this next to an 03 Alain Dudelot-Noellat Vosne -Romanee yesterday. Same varietal, different worlds. The WR pinot was young and boisterous in comparison. Maturing well with ripe raspberry notes and subtle earth nuances. A great drink right now.

Two hour decant. Aromas of roses and violets, mixed with cherry. Fruit is still going strong, and that remains true through a long finish. Tannins are nicely muted. This has integrated nicely, and has none of the heat I tasted in the Hand Select the same evening. Not a lot of secondary development yet, but this will continue improving. 92+
Super tasty. Bright red rim with high water table. Tart bing cherry and raspberry with spice and silky texture. Great mid weight pallet with a vibrant finish. Well composed with a lot of time ahead of it.

Beautiful nose, classic white rose with a bit of heat as expected with the vintage. Palate shows tension, spices, cardamom, cinnamon, cranberry/ higher toned fruit. Tight tannins. Forest, pine. Heat follows all the way through. Finish is firm, medium length.
I think this still needs time to flesh out a bit. It may have needed more air time than we gave it, though.
93 pt nose. 89 point palate and finish. 90 ish net.... Should get better.

Vindredi (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. Bright red fruit mixed with cinnamon candies and spice on the nose. More rich red fruit and strawberries on the body. Good weight and elegance on the body. Finishes long with fine tannins. Definitely more new world in style.

Willamette Valley - Tasted at winery: What struck me about this wine was its earthiness, forest floor attributes. Very Burgundian and delicious. Soft, silky, elegant. Dark berries on the palate, earthy, mushrooms, spices. With more time this will improve even more.

Mountains to Metro (Heritage Ballroom in the Governor Hotel): Very luscious aromas, vibrant fruit, some earth, and nice soil. The palate is very nicely balanced, with delicious fruit and impressive structure. Pleasing and impressive. Tart finish, and again graceful balance with nice fruit and length; a bottle that will age gracefully for some time. 90+
