served at Giuliana's third birthday party held at Gaynor Manor. Shared with a select few guests at the dining room table including pat, giulio, cathy and elena. this was the last of six bottles. most recently tasted 5/22/2019 and rated 90 points. came to the realization that the wine had reached it's apogee and was likely to decline going forward. wine spectator projected longevity to 2020 appears to carry some risk. i have had neyers over several vintages and have loved them all. they easily stand up to other cali chards at twice the price. the added bonus is how gracefully they age. notes for today's bottle are essentially the same as from the bottle tasted last month. this wine, 9 years after the vintage, still offers pleasure. still shows the fundamental qualities of stone fruit and lemon. golden color is the first hint of what follows in the mouth as the wine now has additional layers of caramel and walnut. acid is receding. this bottle was even more enjoyable than the last. perhaps because sentimental feelings aroused by knowing that there are no more bottles to look forward to.

shared with pat at selkirk manor. i have been working on drinking up the dusties in the cellar. i was holding on to this bottle for sentimental reasons but also due to wine spectator projected longevity to 2020. i have had neyers over several vintages and have loved them all. they easily stand up to other cali chards at twice the price. the added bonus is how gracefully they age. this wine, 9 years after the vintage, still offers pleasure. still shows the fundamental qualities of stone fruit and lemon. now has additional layers of caramel and walnut. acid is receding. will serve the last remaining bottle at giuliana's birthday party in june.

shared with pat at selkirk manor. last tasted 5/2018. can't believe i let four months go by before re-visiting. last time i said that i would open the next bottle over the summer so i guess i made it just under the deadline. this bottle was still fresh although it impresses as being fully mature. i have never been disappointed by neyers, even when drinking past suggested drinking range. previous note remains relevant from which i quote: another great bottle of neyers which rarely disappoints. stylistically a cross between old and new world. still has lemon color but with some golden tones indicating that the wine may be reaching old age. generous nose. i love the combination of stone fruit, lemon, hints of oak and hints of butter. also some honey now which also suggests that eight years past the vintage may be pushing things a bit. still well structured but acid is starting to recede. although not as powerful and alluring as it was a few years ago, it still offers an interesting taste experience as it slides towards old age gracefully. glad to have enjoyed it now. will finish the rest by early spring.

shared with pat at selkirk manor. last tasted 2015. based upon last tasting note and sparsity of data from other sources, i figured that the time to try another one was overdue. Brilliant gold, with a youthful green hue. Ripe, tropical aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, toast, and cream. Long, full-bodied, showing a buttery texture and a warm finish. Really wonderful.

Had at RWS tasting with Lobster bisque. Wine improved with food and went very nicely with the soup. It was tighter but the soup helped to make it fuller.

Nose: Pears and melon, very elegant and clean, with a mineral underpinning and touches of herb
Taste: Clean and expansive, featuring orangey-citrus, lemon pastry, fig, and hints of custard cream all delivered on a subtle mineral backbone. A seamless transition into lightly toasted oak mid-palate changes the wine and adds complexity. Remarkably long finish....this wine might get lost in a flight of big bruisers, but on its own its elegance really shines.
Excellent winemaking using superb fruit here, what more could you want? Outstanding value in the low $20's from a winery that clearly has Chardonnay figured out.

Clear lemon yellow color of medium intensity, Nose dominated by vanilla oak, apple and citrus. Palate had pears, citrus and gooseberries. Nicely balanced with medium acid. This wine had a nice medium finish.

this bottle was a little off: stringent, acidic and tight when first opened. Not a good representative, have had good experience with Neyers in the past. Will update with next bottle

Straw in color - slightly dark for a chardonnay. Aromas of peach, pear, and vanilla. Well balanced, with a long simple finish for a chard. Keep this wine cool - as it warms it becomes flabby. Overall an excellent wine.

Too over the top and unbalanced, with a hot finish. This style may work for their Syrahs, but it's a no-no for Chards. Disappointing.
