basically I decanted for 12 hours and this one is huge dark Sangiovese.. blackberries tar asphalt it's all there the acid too... most the negative reviews from the six prior 6 hour mark i imagine .. brunello grapes

Modern style, atypical Sangiovese. Medium body, dark ruby red color, aromatic, red fruits, plum, tobacco notes and oak aroma, ripe cherry, strawberry, prunes and sweet wood on the palate, prunes and cedar on finish, cedar nuts on long finish, rich, velvety structured, balanced and complex, thin acidity, ripe tannins, food friendly. Well match to heavy cheeses or mushrooms soup. Open about one hour in advance. Serve 18º - 22º. Completely matured. Drink now and next couple years.

Impressive effort! Dark and earthy tones, leather and ripe cherry fruit alongside prunes on the nose. Dry on the palate and blessed with grippy tannins this is truly a bargain which may indeed be considered a baby Brunello.

Tasty, darker style sangiovese, big nose of black cherry, prune, tobacco and funk mix with a balsamic quality, big ripe dark fruit on entry fades into sour cherry, strawberry, spice, and dryness. Modern style maybe but it has all the hallmarks of classic sangiovese . Can anyone confirm or deny 2009 used brunello fruit?

Nice nose of liquorice, earth and dark fruit. Opens to a bright balanced wine with great red fruit, tart cranberry notes and light spice. Nice acid keeps the well structured wine lively and in balance. Great wine to drink now while his big brothers rest more in the cellar.

I drank this over a few days, and it really opened up as time went on. It is silky smooth with red fruit and spice, and eventually showed some tobacco and earthy notes. Quite impressed for the price.

What a great bargain compared to the Brunello they are selling for $60+. Very enjoyable pop and pour. I think this blend works for me in a way that pure Sangiovese doesn't. Drink up.

Bold raspberry and brunello spice on the nose. Just opened, restrictive on the palate, but man oh man, lots of stuffing and its all there. Great stuff.

Nice new Italian Red discovery for me. Not the best QPR at $20, but not the worst either. Some funk on the nose at open, but it was gone after a few minutes. We decanted this for at least 4 hours. Deep dark red/purple color. Once the funk blew off, the nose indicated big red cherry and some earth. The fruit was really showing through when we enjoyed this. Nice flavors or primarily dark cherry. Some good peppery spice was in there with some slight notes of licorice and some mineral notes. This was a nice effort and I liked it better than Villa Antinori, which is more expensive. We will buy this again.

Opened several hours before drinking to blow off the funk. Funk scent changed to cherries & light menthol & minerals. Soft on the palate, well balanced wine. Tasty cherries, a little peppery with slight licorice & smokiness. Liked very much.

7 days in Italy.; 6/16/2012-6/22/2012 (Italy): Just south of the Brunello zone in Le Cetine. Sangiovese (Cerretalto clone) with 25% Colorino. 15 months in oak. Whispers of menthol aromas, very nice acid on this wine. dark red fruit, real ease on the palate, yet rather structured for ~$20.

dark ruby, medium legs, mild red fruit and cassis aromas, muted fruit, oaky earthiness, wild acids, medium finish, disappointing

Closed and thin at first. Gained weight and complexity with airtime. Dark fruit, medium weight, with that drying, rustic feel of a wine from tuscany.

something to drink young, I don't really like the style of it : a bit on the heavy side, lacking the fine acidity from a typical Sangiovese wine

Silly cranberry and light red fruit. Great acid level and perfect with food. Complex and deep but just a tad syrupy. Very pleasant overall.
