Tasted on day 2. Some stewed red berry fruit. Cherries? Some hot alcohol notes. Still they are masked over pretty well by the powerful fruit. A huge amount of lift on this. Some spice just dances on the palate. Medium plus finish. This wine is a bit hard to rate as it has some flaws but some big positives as well. Many of the 2009s have fallen apart at this stage and gotten flabby. Not this it still has some life ahead.

Opened up ready to go. Well balanced, with more fruit than expected for an Oregon pinot. Seemed better than the last bottle consumed in 2014. Me - 91, Wife - 90

This wine intriguingly meshes two Pinot Noir styles: Oregon fruit and richness up front with Burgundian earthiness and rusticity at the back. Though more identifiably as New World, I appreciated the deciduous forest floor and mushroom elements that underlie the fruit.

Ruby red in color, with slight bricking on the rim. This shows more fruit (especially aromatically) than a typical Oregon pinot. Aromas and flavors of cherry, spice, chocolate, earth, and raspberry. Well integrated but still having very much present tannins allowed this to work well with chicken and stuffing. Med+ acidity and a moderate-long length finish with a touch of complexity. A good wine, but poor QPR at the CT average price.

Deep ruby, tart herbeous nose. Dry, tart tannins, light fruit, ripe plums, medium body. Improved on the second night, nicely balanced with emphasis on the fruit side. Another night, fruit becomes more subdued with a metallic mineral quality. Nicely balanced acid and fruit with lightly bitter tannins on the finish. Developing a bright berry fruit profile that I find delightful. Great with food.

5th in a flight of 5 from Willakenzie. In the glass: Deep garnet. On the nose: Roses, cassis, raspberry, light spice, tiny bit of ripe banana. In the mouth: all of the nose, plus a tiny bit tart on the tongue, light tannins, light finish. Was told that this was a "burgundy" style pinot with 13 months in oak. I didn't get that impression at all. It should have been "bigger". It was nice, but not for the retail of $63

Starting to show brown on the rim
Nose of ripe fruit and earth
Soft and rich on palate, supple tanins with moderate acidity. I don’t think this will improve from here

Enormous fruit, especially for an Oregon Pinot. Oak and mushroom.

It was more like a Burgundy. Complex Pinot Noir with both fruit and earth notes.
