Good color, body and clarity This is drinking really well, plenty of flavor from start to finish. This is a great value considering 14 years old and priced at $30 per bottle. I would buy again if available.

Nice Wine at a great price! Dark in color with medium body. This is soft up front, has slight oak and good berry flavors that linger well after the finish. Drink now through 2010.

Spectacular Syrah Tasting at Dino's (Dino's - Washington, DC): dark purple color. rhubarb, spice, brambly fruit and some meat on the nose. plush on the palate. the tannins are really smooth and the alcohol is restrained. lots of ripe dark plums and some black pepper.

Inky, after 40 minutes. Drinks really well, soft berry upfront and oak finish that lingers. The mistake I made was not waiting after I opened the bottle. Decant and let it sit.

I throughly enjoyed this. Black cork end. Deep purple black color in the glass, classic Clare Valley nose. Dusty gritty barney bramble fruit all the way through the lingering finish. Not a fruit bomb, no extraction, good solid winemaking. Can go for a ton longer, but drinking fine. Plenty of sediment.

Nose and palate of blackberry, leather and coffee leading to a medium length finish. I would strongly recommend decanting this wine to remove the sediment.

Tasted blind at a bring your own red gathering. Very funky. Deep nose and palate. Very interesting and good, but not recommended if you don't like wines that bring the funk.

Dark color. Full-bodied with lots of blackberry fruit, along with some currant and licorice. A rich choclatey mouth-feel. Some nice acidity so not a toal Aussie ooze-monster but still more my wife's style than mine. Paired well with barbeque ribs.

Dark and inky Aussie Shiraz. Tons of fruit on the nose and drinking pretty well right now. We liove this producer and this is a great BBQ wine> It can hold up to some spicy food. It's finish is now under control and I'd drink it now.

Still dark inky and all Ox Shiraz. This vintage just doesn't come together as well and although their is the usual fruit it's not as up front as other years. Still a decent bottle but not near as enjoyable as earlier vintages.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #020; Australia: Shiraz. (By PdVr): Very dark deep purple. Sweet and spicy and blackberries in the nose. Sweet start. Soft, round, liquorice. Laurel, good bitterness. Long juicy aftertaste with good integrated wood. Lovely wine.

Good intensity on the nose, with ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit, new oak evident but not over-powering. On the palate this is dry, but has detectable residual sugar and medium + ripe tannins. A full bodied wine with plenty of ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit and vanilla hints, this shows attractive savoury notes on a good length finish which is well balanced

Spicey nose with a hint of licorice. Smooth mouth-feel. Tannins are there but very subtle. Dark fruit. STRONG licorice finish - fairly long lasting. Really enjoy this wine, although have had a few inconsistent bottles.

A firm dose of oak in the bouquet, also leather and stable smells. On the palate a sweet start with ripe black berries, licorice, coffee and caramel. Also herbs and spices e.g. thyme. Good acidity and a long finish.

Decanted for 2.5 hrs, returned to the bottle without cork for 2.5 hrs, and then drank over the next 6 hrs. The nose on this shows lots of citrus laced cherry and blackberry mixing with some eucalyptus. Once in the mouth, it shows to be medium bodied and full of blackberries & dark cherries marinating in a peppery, smoky, citrus mixture. This finishes up long and full of smoke & citrus berry notes. I have enjoyed this wine over the past year and it is still hitting on all cylinders especially when you consider the price. It stood up nicely with the higher regarded competition below. This is right on the border of B+/A-, but I will give it a grade of very high B+ with A- potential down the line.

Deep/opaque purple core, very narrow rim. Good intensity on the nose, with ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit, new oak evident but not over-powering. On the palate this is dry, but has detectable residual sugar and medium + ripe tannins. A full bodied wine with plenty of ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit and vanilla hints, this shows attractive savoury notes on a good length finish which is well balanced by medium + acidity. Overall a very nice Australian Shiraz, certainly very approachable now, may improve with another year or two in bottle.

Started with a great nose of fruit and chocolate. The palate was more of the same, medium bodied with lots of sweet blackberry fruit, mint and a touch of chocolate. Medium length finish with silky, smooth tannins. Not a complex wine, more of a mid week quaffer too be shared with friends. Interestingly the bottle says this wine will develop flavour and complexity if cellared beyond 10 years ... not sure if this wine is built for the long-haul ... and I will have definitely drunk all of mine when 2012 comes around. Campbell says drink between 2005-07. IMHO may last a couple more years than that but definitely ready to drink now as I do not see it improving much at all. Nice wine if you are not looking for anything too complex.

This kicks - definitely solid and can take a few more years of ageing. Very deep, thick with strong black tar nose. A little too candied else it would be higher. Also could do with a better finish.

Tasted at Leasingham Cellar Door: Deep red in colour I got an oaky and fruity aroma. Seem quite young with developing tannins. Quite light. Smooth mouth feel.
