Lustrous gold, brilliant. Dried herbs, honeysuckle, bright and intense. Lemon and limes dominate, cut with bright acidity, with a refined herbal spice. Sherbet zest merges with the apparent sweetness. Totally clean, crisp and youthful. Very high quality, timeless.

Bottle breathe for 15 min. Loads of citrus and honey but the delicacy is different from the “full body” feel of Meursault. The palate shows the complexity of flower, fresh fruit but also offers clean taste. Medium finishing. Too bad we didn’t decant this one. I think it will even show more if there are enough time for breathing

Golden, looks aged. Cut hay, dried herbs, honeysuckle, bright and intense, seems more Sav than Sem despite being only 20%. Lemon and limes dominate with bright acidity, but the herbal spice is very present too. Sherbet zest lifts the apparent sweetness. Initial slightly oxidative notes which blew off in time. Very enjoyable now, probably heading into old age soon.

NR. Unfortunately full oxidative. Interesting nose and mouth, like Gravners Ribolla with hint of vanilla from barrique, although. But this is not right white Bordeaux.

Excellent wool and sunflower seed notes with a slight herbal and chamomile-honey note; quite ripe compared to the '97, nice silky mouthfeel, very fresh still with well-integrated oak and seamless. Not especially powerful or with tons of character, but an excellent white bordeaux. in 2009 this was folded into La Mission Haut Brion. Hedonists at Connie and Rays. 91-92

Deep, bright yellow, almost golden in colour. Rather tight and closed on the nose at first (it was admittedly slightly too cold). Ripe fruit, lemon zest, white flowers, hints of honey, over time developing a slightly spirity, whisky like character. Very complex and intriguing. Incredibly fresh on the palate, mineral and very pure. After three hours in the decanter it was showing absolutely stunning nuances and complexity towards the finish. Very long and lingering. Wonderful. Approachable but needs time. 95-96+

Quite a bit of bottle variation across the case. This one was excellent with different notes than last. Youthful, lemon rind, crushed stone with semillion depth and viscosity present.

Dare I say young? Compared to 2002 HB Blanc's I have had, this remains more restrained. Unfortunately, we were at a restaurant and couldn't decant to experiment with more air. Eitherway, the table found it extremely pleasant. Oak notes a bit overt. With time, I hope for tropical fruits to be coaxed out and oak to diminish.

yellow straw. fine, lemony with dried herbs. zesty citrus fruit, lemony, lovely warm herbal spice, quite sauvy but not totally dominating, light and well balanced, good length, smooth and zippy.

Nose was quite mute. More open after 2 hours in bottle.
