  • Six years later...it's ready. Drinking great, with a rich nose, solid red fruit, fully integrated tannins, spice and black licorice, and a focused medium to long finish. Definitely worth the wait.

  • PnP...Very tannic, needs 2 hr decant but very promising!

  • PnV. Medium crimson in color. Nose of cherries, some graphite, and a touch of earth. Cherries dominant on the palate. Elegant. Started off a bit tannic but softened significantly over a few hours. Decent acidity. Med finish.

Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Bordeaux glass at 59F.

  • This is in a great spot now. Nice backbone with flavor of cherry and raspberry. It’s too bad it’s my last bottle.

  • Un Bordeaux bien réussi et raffiné par l'œuvre du temps. Le nez invitant, le fruit en maturité et les épices qui montrent une palette ample sur des tanins arrondis et une belle persistance en bouche.

  • Decanted 1 hour prior. Dark garnet with some fine suspended sediment. Dark red fruit with some wood spice on the bouquet. Smooth attack opening to a medium bodied Bordeaux with fine tannins and a medium final.

Enjoyed this but I must admit it didn't bowl me over.

  • This wine is still too young. It takes a couple hours to open up. Once it does it is pretty impressive. Flavor of cherry with a hint of blueberry. Great finish too.

  • Crimsony magenta. Earth, raspberry, and a bit of almond cream on the nose. Medium bodied, cranberries, herbs, cherries, grainy tannins, smoke, good acid, and a fruity, medium to long finish. Good components, but needs more time to integrate, I think.

  • My wife liked a lot. Not usually a red wine drinker. I agree with other comments about giving extended time to breath.

  • Hint of fresh dried daikon on nose...good already and look forward to the peak in the next few years.

  • Superbe nez sur les petits fruits rouges. Le bois s'est bien intégré et les tanins se sont adoucis depuis 1 an. La bouche est pleine et suave. Beaucoup de vin pour 20$. Sera à son apogée d'ici 2-3 ans.

  • Pretty flat both in nose and taste upon opening. Improved hugely with time. After about two hours a healthy and fruity nose developed, which was supported by a fruit forward taste on the palate, moderated by a subtle finish. A very nice wine that was both full in the mouth with fruit but subtle with the earth as it went down. At this point in its aging process. It benefits greatly from air.

  • Opened the bottle and I let it breathed for two hours. The wine is dark red in color with a clear miniscus on the rim. The legs are long and slow-forming, almost clinging as it runs down the glass. On the nose, the wine smells very seductive with a perfumed mix of mint, coconut cream with red and black fruits all intermingled harmoniously. Initially, the wine feels cool on the palate showing raipe cherries and blueberries along with balancing acidity. The wine is very smooth and glides easily along your palate and finishes with a warming sensation accompanied with hints of vanilla followed by soft, gripping tannins. Overall, this wine delivers an excellent QPR. Made with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, it makes the wine very accessible now, but it has the structure from the tannins, alcohol and acidity to last at least 10 years. The nose alone is worth the price and I would recommend this as a must buy from Lot18!

  • After 2 hours when open the bottle.

On the nose: Very perfume wine, floral leads the way follow by some butter and a bit of oak. A hint of cherry also detectable.
On the palate: very creamy and buttery. Not really round as I think. Very strong tannic structure but very smooth. Spice also detect. Tannin capture at the end of tongue.
On the finish: Not lengthy enough but gives the mineral feeling and oak at the end. Short-middle range finish.

Conclusion: This wine is very young - far too young to drink right now. You have to leave it in the cellar and forget until about 2014 to see the potential at the earliest stage. For myself, this wine will starts to drink well at 2016 and it could aging for very long time until 2023+. Very good wine especially in terms of "aroma" which is incredibly excellent and intense. My score is 90+ for this wine (+ is for further aging potential which leaves room for further complexity). Compared with 2005 vintage, same aroma but intense feeling on the palate for 2009. This is really, really good wine.

P.S. When come to think exactly, 94 points is something it deserves.

  • Very classic merlot. Silky and suave, with plums alongside cedar and something that reminded me of fresh compost. This is almost ready, just the oak is still a bit too much up front. This will be a beautiful wine in not too long. Serve at 18C. Drink now-2016. Food pairing ideas: leg of lamb.

Savoureux. 14%
