Beautiful ruby red in colour, strong nose of graphite, minerals, fresh mint, cedarwoods, wild berry fruits, quite dominant and complete! Very refreshing palate, again mainly driven by wild berry fruits, medium body and it basically remains the same over the next two hours! Solidly built, just lacking a bit of charm in my own view! At its best but will carry on this way over the next few years!

Medium garnet color. Graphite, charcoal, tar and leather on the nose. Full body. Fruity acidic attack with a luscious mouthfeel. Cherry, blackberry and chocolate. Powerful but soft tannins throughout mid palate and finish that keeps on going. The wine seems in perfect balance. Mixture of red and black fruits throughout the finish. Close to optimal wine in my opinion. Ready for consumption now.

During a Commanderie de Bordeaux bin end event. A surprise of the evening. This under performing Chateau with its diluted and often borderline ripe wines came out well for once. Very nice nose of dark fruit, pine, a touch of oak. Lighter palate with softened tannins. Good food wine. Drink up.

High acidity nose with earth, blackberry, touch of salty minerality, menthol. Good acidity on the palette. A bit of fullness of fruit on the mid palette. Nice bite of fine tannins. Classic claret.

I liked this a lot, but it really needed to be kept at proper claret drinking temperature. Too hot, and it was thin with dominant pencil lead notes. But in the mid-60s, it was a beautiful Margaux full of plum, cedar, violet, and pencil notes. Looking back at other tasting notes, I don't know what people were doing drinking this at under 10-12 years of age; it's hardly a good idea with 2nd growths even if they are under-performing relative to their status.

Good cork, decanted 1/2 hour. Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose shows red and black berry fruit, floral notes, touch of earth, spice and savour. Medium bodied, quite red fruited on the palate, soft tannins, touch of vanilla and earth, quite mellow but with attractive fresh acidity and a harmonious, good length, fresh finish with a touch of savour. Classic, pretty decent, drinking well but no particular hurry - for at least another 5 years.

Red currant and a rather high acidity permeating the whole first impression. No complexity, rather one-dimensional oak treatment and a rather dull overall experience. Certainly an approachable and drinkable Bordeaux, but the acidity could perhaps be a bit toned down in favour of fruit and other components.

Clear. Ruby, browner to rim. Developed medium intensity nose, some fruit but fading fast. Soft and medium - acidity, plum and dark fruit on palate, some earth. Suspect past peak, little tannin left. Pleasant but I would say drink up!

It's always an experience to taste a wine like this. It features a powerful nose of the finest quality cigars, black earth, and damp basement funk. Overall, the nose was somewhat reminiscent of the 2006 Beychevelle. The palate is sauve and supple, showing saddle leather, tobacco, black earth, integrated oak, and graphite notes. Good finish. This is probably at peak, maybe just over peak. This wine is all about earthiness...and I like it. 90-91.

Last bottle. Big dark fruit with quite some wood present. It's ok but there somthing missing. What is the lesson here? First bottle, five years after the vintage, was the best?

A: Mid-garnet with relatively youthful rim N: reticent but warm. black fruits and perhaps some nuts and wooden box P: really balanced. plenty of fruit. mid-weight body and integrated tannins. Rather short.

Has improved signifcantly over the last couple of years. Quite elegant and medium bodied with a firm tannin structure. Left bank for sure and very much Bordeaux on the nose. Positively surprised but not sure it will develop much more as I think the fruit is not sufficient. It will of course hold up for many more years but I don't think it will get better.

Ruby color. Somethig here reminds me Bordeaux nose... Defiinitely lacks of fruit and complexity. On the palate is light to medium bodied with lot of minerals and a short and dry finish. Not good for a Second Growth. Disapointing!

Great spot after 1-1.5 hours in the decanter.
I agree with the black cherry and licorice notes. Nice structure and good presence and length!
