Sadly, this bottle was past its prime. Bought at auction from winebid, so I can’t speak to others, but while this still has a little of the classic orange and almond and honeysuckle peeking out from around the edges, they were pretty muted. Too bad, because I bet it was lively and lovely in its time.

Subdued nose, with a slight dried apricot, brown sugar, vanilla bean, but not any ripe fruit; has an ethanol aspect; mouth is creamy, rich, medium+ heavy on the palate, but wonderful in its balance; unfolds on the palate with bitter almond, apricot pit, dried straw. Low acidity, medium long finish with slight bitterness. Love this, really classic. 13% alc.

90-91 pts

Deep gold color, and gorgeous floral nose not unlike a Condrieu I had recently. Smooth viscous palate texture displays flavors of orange marmalade and honey with a nice dose of minearality and crisp acidity to balance everything out. This is a big, structured white wine done very well. It was absolutely delicious with steamed & buttered lobster.

Still has plenty of life. Richness is cut by decent acidity, with notes of honeysuckle. This is a food wine.

An outstanding wine crammed with minerality, grass. Baseline pineapple. Lean and pinpoint focus. Terroir-plus. Loved it with cheese.

Pale yellowy gold. Floral, citrus nose, with hints of St Honoré.
Pronounced oaky vanilla, good acidity.
Dry, mineral finish.

Pale gold. A big oily white with orange peel, dried apricot, and a big mineral stony streak.

Orange blossoms and beeswax. Dry and granitic. Has a lining of lemon and saline seaspray. A wine of terroir
