Very dark in flavor. Blackberry and maybe plum. I did not find it to be sweet nor did I think the alcohol was out of balance. Drinking well, even on the 2nd day. I did not find it lacking in acidity, and I love great acidity.

Huge Zin. A style I do not enjoy. Very high alcohol (said 15.1, felt even higher). A ton of fruit (mostly blackberries, some blueberries). A ton of vanilla and toasted coconut from the oak. Sweet, cloying. Almost in port territory. Not enough acidity. Really wanted to like this wine (from a remarkable man who is one of the best vineyard managers in the country), but I just did not. Some people with a taste for huge, sweet, fruit-forward and high alcohol wines may like it though.

This Zinfandel amazed me right from the first taste. It was inky dark in color and the fruit was perfect to balance the nice acidity that the wine offered. The nose was very enticing and made me want to start drinking it immediately. No heat from alcohol. Everything balanced. Drank great being opened over the entire weekend. All signs of a great wine.

Brick red/garnet color. Plum, black cherry, fig scents. Peppery fruit flavors. Possibly on the downhill side but still delightful. RIP Senor Valdez!

This seems to be a special wine and it helps to let it properly age

Smooth zin that went well with home-made pizza. Not over the hill.

Smooth with good structure and deep flavors -- very well balanced with a great, long finish. A wonderful, big Zin.

Delicious, a little zing, lovely fruit and silkiness. Still very young, plenty of time to enjoy
