Very dark in flavor. Blackberry and maybe plum. I did not find it to be sweet nor did I think the alcohol was out of balance. Drinking well, even on the 2nd day. I did not find it lacking in acidity, and I love great acidity.

Huge Zin. A style I do not enjoy. Very high alcohol (said 15.1, felt even higher). A ton of fruit (mostly blackberries, some blueberries). A ton of vanilla and toasted coconut from the oak. Sweet, cloying. Almost in port territory. Not enough acidity. Really wanted to like this wine (from a remarkable man who is one of the best vineyard managers in the country), but I just did not. Some people with a taste for huge, sweet, fruit-forward and high alcohol wines may like it though.

Brick red/garnet color. Plum, black cherry, fig scents. Peppery fruit flavors. Possibly on the downhill side but still delightful. RIP Senor Valdez!

This seems to be a special wine and it helps to let it properly age

Smooth zin that went well with home-made pizza. Not over the hill.
