  • Subsequent notes from almost two years ago. Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of lemons/limes, pineapples & grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, wet stones, hazelnuts/almonds, buttery, brioche, honey & toasty oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & pineapple with minerals, spices, caramel, toasty & a slight touch of toasted oak/vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but at 8 years of age, I doubt any further development would occur with additional aging. A beautiful aged California Chardonnay.

  • Very much in line with the previous reviews. Nice surprise coming from the Sonoma blend, I would've almost mistaken it for one of their single vineyards. Nice yellow straw color with immediately recognizable Kistler aromas of lemon custard, toast and a very pleasantly restrained use of oak with an almost savory finish. Still one of the best chardonnay producers in the US in my opinion, even at this (relatively modest) price point. I'd say it has another 5yrs left at this point, well done.

  • Pale & light golden yellow in color. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of youthful yet complex, ripe fruit aromas of white peaches, lemons/limes, pineapples & grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, wet stones, minerals, hazelnuts/almonds, slight buttery, brioche, honey, smoky & toasty oak in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, youthful but complex, ripe fruit flavors of apples, lemons/limes & pineapple with minerals, spices, caramel, toasty & a slight touch of vanilla. Long lingering finish with good acidity. Drinks quite well at present but has the ripe fruit & structure to continue developing with additional aging.

  • Great Cali Chard. White peach, nectarine, honeysuckle and oak on the nose. A viscous but clean entry leads to more of the same on the palate with a creamy brioche laced clean finish. Well balanced with several years of shelf life. Drink now-2022.

  • Still a mostly pale yellow color. Pleasing aroma of oak and tropical fruit. Silky midpalate gains momentum to a balanced, lengthy finish. Full bodied but maintains some citrus and vegetal elements in the profile. no harshness at all. Very enjoyable and apparently getting better with bottle time. Drink or hold

  • Nose: lemon curd, custard, brioche, grilled pineapple. Grilled sea scollops? Palate: pineapple, pear and a touch of confected bannana. Alc shows for sure but is decently balanced with thea tart acidity. Finish: lively saline and tart tropical fruit.

  • WIML90

Tasted non blind at a wine dinner.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Tight nose of yellow pears, yellow apples and vanilla. Flavors of vanilla, cream, yellow pears and lemon. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

  • Color: Golden yellow
Smell: restrained vanilla, lemon, green apples, and honey
Taste: Lemon, yellow apple, and a bit of pineapple
Overall: This is well made, but certainly not worth the coin. Medium+ body, med acidity, med+ fruit, high alcohol perception on both the nose and palate. Very Good-Excellent...but certainly not anywhere near where it should be given the cost.

  • Yellowish green with pinapple and oak. It's a big wine with lots of butter and tropical fruit that's lacking acidity and is a bit flabby. This is very well made wine that delivers - but I believe is overpriced for what it is. The single vineyard wines are worth it.

  • Enjoyed at beachfront seafood restaurant over crab & lobster cakes, scallops and sea bass. Fantastic acidity, perfect for the crab cakes' hot pepper chili oil. Yellow-greenish hue, soft citrus nose, and nice long finish. Very good, not earth shattering.

  • Lemon cream, hazelnut, earth and toast nose and flavours. Full, dry, creamy and viscous with nut and mineral complexities on the palate. Long, complex finish. Big with style.
