One of the best values for the money! Nice and firm tanins, still good fruit, that Cabernet frank brings firm notes of cassis. Should keep for a few more years!

This is a dark purple wine with aromas of blended dried fruit and herbs. It has a full taste with a dark dash of tannin and dry lingering finish. Food broadens the taste substantially.

You can't make a choice, unless you have a choice. We paired this against a Texas High Plain Merlot blend which won hands down. This full bodied wine would be a good choice for heavier fare. Dark fruit, much better once it opened up.

Going from memory here...Very dense coloring with ruby at the very edges. Blue, black, and dark red fruits and oak spice on the nose and palate. Lush merlot fruit and a bit of cab franc green pepper as well. Modern styled wine.

Decanted, and open for 2+ hours at time of tasting note.
Briar patch, cedar, red currants, white pepper, hint of carmelized onion, and dried black cherries and dried strawberries. Acid is pretty balanced, but there is lots of astringency still. A little bit of iron / blood as well.

Popped and poured. Healthy black-ruby color. Medium legs. Nose is tight but shows good black currant and mineral notes. Attractive. Polished and silky-smooth on the palate, not showing a great deal right now aside from dried fruits and earth but has the stuffing and tannin to age for a while. Just needs a little time to open. A bit short on the finish, overall it is a good drink for the money. 4-12-14-7: 87/100.

75% Merlot, 25% Cab Franc. Enveloped barrel spice of a nice and soft tone. Baking spice, a month before Christmas. Dark red and black fruit on the palate. Plush and not to disappoint. Drink 2012 to 2020.

A terrific Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion, still deeply colored and vibrant. 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc. Plenty of time left on this one.

Not so many notes; some chocolate, some green bell pepper impressions, a lot of new oak. Overall ok and elegant. Have to taste again. 86 - 87.

Barrel sample. Just a few short notes; ok and complete wine, although not really luxurious. A bit alcoholic. Long finish.
